  1. I love the bulls like I love hunting in the UK. It makes me sad when people take joy in the injuries of humans....Yes they put themselves in that position but would you laugh at a huntsman who breaks his neck in a fall?

Fair enough if you don't understand it or don't see the art or skill in it but please don't talk shite about people passions.

If your going to kill something then do it quickly? Sell your lurcher and buy a rifle and night vision.

Fighting bulls get 5 years living wild without seeing a human, they die within 20min of entering the ring and when fought buy matadors on foot they stand a chance of being pardoned after a brave proformance.

I can't watch the videos of humans being gored, when you have met those people in real life it's not a nice thing to glory in.

If this was aimed at me then im sorry but i am definately not an anti. I dont own a lurcher but i do own a rifle. We just have different views that is all i feel that us english hunters should distance ourselves from that sort of event as it would add fuel to the fire for an actual anti group to get more of our hunting banned by tarring us with the same brush as these people. Im not against bull fighting i just think that if you are going to play with fire eventually you will get burned and you cant argue with the fact that 20 minutes no matter how many years you have lived free is a slow death for these beasts. No different really to me and you sitting down to watch a boxing match or cage fight im rooting for one side and you are rooting for the other
  2. Im always rooting for the bull in these videos it seems so cruel to me to make it run around a ring while you stick swords in it untill it dies. If you going to kill something just kill it for god sake. What a beautiful animal they are though

  3. Isnt this how murderers or serial killers start off. So people should be very worried when they see people acting in this way these are warning signs for the police surely and should be looked into further such as what has happened to these kids in thier life to make them want to do this. As has been said before when i was younger a friend of mine, my brother and me had a dog follow us home and we washed it and fed it and tried to persuede our parents to let us keep it

  4. Advice needed from some more experienced people After losing a dog 2 years ago when we moved house my wife has finally relented and is letting me get another dog for company of our little staffy. Now i am torn between getting a lurcher or a gundog i love lurchers but have had no experience of them if i get a gundog it will be a springer or a lab my wife would prefer a lab or she keeps going on about getting a lurcher with saluki in it as friends of ours have a lurcher with saluki in it and she loves playing with its ears. I know i know. Anyway the dog will be a familly pet and come beating and rough shooting with me, part of me wants a gundog but part of me wants a lurcher because it will take me back to when i first got an air rifle and used to go out with my uncle and cousin poaching at night shooting out of his truck window. Confused is not the word and only one dog will be alowed

  5. Tell her that the difference is that hares are usually given law (a head start) when a dog is slipped by a human and that hunting dogs are not used in the hares breeding season whereas wolves give no law and hunt all year round.

The hare herself doesn't care one way or the other whether she's being hunted by a pack of wolves, a pack of hounds or a running dog, all she wants is to survive and if she is caught in all those situations the death is more or less the same, unless it's a soft mouthed lurcher.

Then when you've impressed her with all these facts make your move.

    Ha great post

  6. So i made a comment on bbc ones the hunt which is a great programme. My comment was something like we are allowed to watch two wolves chase a hare but not a dog whats the difference and my friends mum has replied with the dogs are made to do it and the wolves are doing it for food so its different. What should i reply

  7. I have had 3 of the old L200 and imo they are bomb proof and take a lot of stick and with the right tyres will go most places that any other 4x4s go

    sometimes :tongue2:

I have driven all the pick ups I drove the new hilux in Oz last year on a 4x4 driving course it was decent enough one thing about the ozzies they are really into there 4x4s in a big way and are fully kitted out

    IMG_0138.JPG

I had the new Ford Ranger in the austaralian out back earlier this year and it was a decent bit of kit but never really tried it offroad just driving for 100s of km at a time on dusty tracks .

I bought the new L200 earlier this year and im impressed so far more comforatble than the old model but you can feel its not so well made the old models were built like tanks not really done any serious offroading or towing with it yet but the engine 176bhp DI-D is alot better and much more economical .

Didnt the old shape l200 have lots of engine problems

  8.

Im afraid a small 4x4 might have to be the way to go im liking the look of thise x trails at the minute

I came to the same conclusion when I was looking it's pointless having more than you need the bigger 4x4s/crew cab pickups like the l200 nivara ect in reality you will be getting around 25mpg with a higher maintenance cost on top....I had my mind set on a feelander to begin with but soon got put of with a little research also looked at rav4, xtrail, shogun pinin, terios ect along with the bigger trucks..even though I wasn't immediately sold on the gv it was to good a deal to pass and in the end im glad I did.
ye i just need a diesel for the miles that i do
