  1. Yes, I'd recommend Strava. I've been using it for years but they've took away a lot of the features that made it good inorder to get people pay the subscription fees and get access to the all the features again! I was all free back in the day when it first came out!!

I've just had a dig around at my biking and running stats that are recorded on the app. Interesting.. I've never seen them listed like that before!!

My running stuff. Never really been a runner!

My biking stats! Never really been a biker either but some half decent numbers I'd say..

I'm the same mate, every city we go to we go in the cathedral, I'm not religious just something about them. There's a decent little art shop in cathedral yard, worth a look.

Glad you got about and enjoyed it mate, it's a nice part of the world, you should've given me a shout I would've come and met you for a cuppa...

Cheers very much mate... top man, really appreciate that! Yes.. my eldest daughter is at Lincoln Uni and she's just sent me these 2 pics through. She knows me well!! Lol..

The 2nd pic with the coffee is looking at Lympstone/Topsham over the River Exe estuary, the first pic with the boats is the Exeter canal at Turf Locks, that's where the canal ends and enters the river mouth near Powderham Castle.

I grew up near Topsham right on the river, loads of good memories on the canal and river mate..

Where abouts on the Exe where you?

Ah yes mate.. makes sense now I know you where on the west side of the estuary! We had a good poke about around where you are.. popped in at the farm shop at Powderham.. plenty of Fallow in the grounds there! It's a lovely area tucked out of the way down there. We stayed on the coast just around from Exmouth. Did the little boat trip from Topsham where the antiques place is back down to Exmouth then caught the train back up to Topsham. I remember seeing the boat reck in your pic!! I didn't take any pics myself as it was a bloody grim day! The rain just about held off!! Lol! I actually did think about you at the time..I knew you where down there somewhere!! Got a pic of Exeter cathedral though!! F@@k... I do love a cathedral!! Lol...

  4. A bit later here but I backed Kitty's Light back in November and took 25's on it. Little story behind it. We were on holiday in Wales back in October and had a ride out one day and we pulled down a little lane to look at some castles ruins. As we were getting out of the car load of what were obviously race horses went past us and waded through the river that ran past the castle. I had a quick Google and the trainer Christian Williams has his stable along side the little lane down to the castle ruins. Anyway, I got Googling and his stable star Kitty's light was being targeted for the National this year after having won the Scottish national and the old Whitbred at Sandown on consecutive Saturdays last year so I had to have a couple of quid on it early doors. It came 5th so I'll get a bit back. They ran it on the outside obviously to avoid any fallers but that extra distance covered must add up over 4 plus miles as opposed to a horse hugging the rail! I didn't have the feel of the race it used to have for me after all the changes they've made!

The trainer with Kitty's light and his family. Can just see the old castle ruins in the background there!

A link to the stables if anyone is interested!

Had a mess about with it mate getting used to the different settings still can't connect it to my phone. The one I got is not for long distances but will do me for what I want. If I wanted one for spotting stuff a fair distance away I would go for the higher end ones.

I should imagine that's a handy bit of kit for spotting roosting birds mate. Handy for sorting a Magpie problem out amongst other numerous things!

Looks the bizz that mate! Do you use any particular charcoal?? I've mostly used aldi/ wilko bricketts in the past on the cheapo basic no frills bbq. Decent heat and burn time once they're fully ashed over. Found lump wood lights easier.. and you can cook on it sooner.. it gets hotter too but doesn't last as long as the bricketts. What's your preference pal?? Also apparently the cheap stuff is full of crap allegedly. Too late for me.. the damage is already done!! Lol..

Yes, it was no picnic today !…..picking daughter up from Uni in Bath……nice part of the world but not a patch on North Yorkshire :whistling:

Ahh! Lovely mate! We were looking to get somewhere for a Monday to Friday in the Bath to Bristol area but was struggling to find something so now we're heading down to Devon. We packed our daughter back off to Lincoln Uni today on the train but she's only going to do her couple of shifts behind the bar where she works then she's heading back home on Sunday. Yep.. I won't argue ..God's own county as they say. Has a bit of everything!!

Nice camp and views there bush ! Looked a good crack

Cheers pal.. yes, we parked opposite the Derwent Inn pub and the path goes behind there and it's a decent climb to begin with but easy going once it levels off. Did a reccy walk around there over Christmas and there quite a few pitchs by the rocks along there. My ankle held up with the pack on too which was a relief! Lol! Hopefully we'll be heading up to the Lakes soon!

  15. Strangley lost my mojo for posting for some unexplained reason!

Not really a big talker at the best of times anyway I guess!!

Noticed a break in the weather 2 weeks back and managed a night in the Peaks on derwent edge. Cracking spot out of the wind overlooking Sheffield. Only 1.5 mile walk in from the Derwent Inn car park. I'll be going back here in the summer!!

  16. Just a heads up to any that might be interested in watching this. Stumbled across it on Netfkix recently. 6 or seven episodes I think. I watched the first one and it was based around the Scottish team and Finn Russell in particular. Very good watch I thought!!

Yeah it's good stuff Rab ain't it mate, never new there was an outlet shop though

Yes, It's a decent shop now to be honest and you can pick some good gear up a really good prices! They usually have a bit of everything in there but they put updates on their Facebook page about what stock they've got. Going back some years the shop look like a pokey little office with just a few rails of stuff for sale and was only open for a few hours twice a week! Only half hour run for me so not too bad. I don't go that much mind.. getting fed up of hearing our Doris moaning about it! Lol..

Just a screen shot of the post code and opening times for if you ever find yourself down this way mate!
