  1. Anybody know of any litters of working labs going? I'm based in Surrey but will travel of course. Preferably male. thanks!
  2. That's what my concern was, if the pup was raw fed, would it start to chew up and mangle the game it retrieves?
  3. I'm looking to get my first gun dog at the end of the month - a working lab. I'm thinking about raw feeding it, as I've got family members who do the same with their dogs and it works wonders for them. However, none of them are gun dogs. Does anyone here raw feed their gun dogs?
  4. Thanks for the advice mate, I'll keep you posted on how it goes
  5. Hi all, I'd like to start some goose hunting in a field. I have 14 acres of land to shoot on, and had a few questions to get started. Firstly and foremost, is this enough land for geese to land / fly over? There is a huge 30 acre lake behind the treeline where the land boundary ends, but it's owned by a cement and aggregates company. Secondly, how many decoys should I start out with? I've seen a few videos where people use decoys and get geese to land in fields, however they are much bigger than 14 acres. Thanks,
  6. This might sound stupid but I thought it wasn't deer season?
  7. Sorry, just read how close you are to the road! That's very close indeed, check up on the laws, but you should be fine
  8. You could get them if they are within 40 yards and they're stationary, but with pigeons that's very rarely the case. They can't sit still, so your best bet is to get a section 2 and get yourself a shogun. You'll be taking them down mid-flight with no problem. I got my section 2 in about 2 weeks. However, that's probably because my dad has a section 1 and 2, so the process was a lot quicker. It can take up to 6 weeks. It's well worth it though mate, and you can get into clays as well if you were inclined. The 14 acre land I shoot on has dog walkers going past it all the time, and it's by the M2

  10. Hey everyone, Here's a common problem - I'm left eye dominant but I'm right handed. However, I've heard that this doesn't matter with shotguns because it's better to shoot with both eyes open, because you see the pigeon or whatever quarry coming a lot faster, and two eyes open sends information to your brain quicker, meaning you can respond quicker. Is this true? I've heard the old saying "you aim a rifle, but you point a shotgun" but does anyone have any experience with shooting with both eyes open, or anyone who has cross eye dominance like me? Cheers
  11. Thanks for the reply! I did have a read on your thread about it as well! Looks like I'm definitely going for this gun then. I'll definitely keep you posted as well - when I get it and take it out for the first time I'll undoubtedly make a new thread about it. Cheers
  12. I'm wanting to buy a new air rifle for some live quarry shooting. In particular, rabbits. I've opted for the .22 version with a silencer and a hawke eclipse 3-12x50 scope. After some research, I've decided I'm probably going to go for this one. Does anyone own one of these rifles, or had any experience with them? I'd love to know! Thanks
  13. Southerner here, in the North of Surrey, just outside of South West London.
  14. Hello everybody! Just joined the forum and took this opportunity to introduce myself. My name if Fabio, I'm 19 and live in the North of Surrey. I'm a shot gun license holder and have five shot guns under my license, most of which I share with my Dad, who got me into shooting a few years ago. Hunting is my true passion, in particular, duck hunting and rabbit hunting. I also do a bit of clay pigeon shooting on the land I hunt on with my Dad's clay pigeon trap. I'm not part of a club yet, but I will be in the summer after my University exams finish and I have a bit more free time. Hunting has
