    out of curiosity why alive, should still rag it when its deed? the penny will drop for the ferret soonenough hopefully Because the rabbit moves trys to run and makes noises the ferrets instincts will come out and it will latch on iv done it with last years who wasnt interested in dead rabbits now hes par with my oldest hob if not better

    My smallest jill was like that when i got her i took her out with other ferrets worked set and when a rabbit hit the bet i would let her rag it for a bit after that she has turned out to bemu best worker wont leave a warren until its empty and nevet kills underground as shes thay small, i have her full sisters aswell and and there a normal size iv no idea why shes that small lol

    Was out for about an hour and half this smorning. Went to first set bolted 2 rabbits with no nets dog was left for dust, went to the next set was a 6 or 7 holer some of the holes were hard to bet because of awkward tree stumps etc but i managed to net all accept one. I left the dog over the one i couldnt net but soon as the first rabbit hit the net he ran to it ferret latched on to his ear aswel when he went for the rabbit haha 1 rabbit in the bag quickly another bolted as i went to it a big buck ran out the unnetted hole and ran straight into a fence and daised itself and gave the dog time to

    Rake a dont want a lurcher because they are too big for my i wont be hunting foxes or hares all i want i a dog that will catch a rabbit when it bolts and a whippet is bred to do that. Ideation what lines is your whippet mate? Ill have a look in that forum i wouldnt pay more than £500 for any pup that is going to be a working dog as noone knows how it will turn out even if its came from cracking parents

    Iv been looking into getting a whippet for the ferreting (i dont want a lurcher) never had a dog like that before no idea what the best lines are etc any info would be great cheers lads

    Iv never had to dig in my life just luck i think i havent got locator yet going to get one though. Closest iv came to it was i heard a squealing comming from the hole and i put my arm in and barely held the rabbit with my finger tips and pulled it out with ferret attached lol

    Didnt mean that lol if u block the holes with rocks mate the ferret will chase a rabbit to the rock and when it cant get out the ferret will dragg it back down the burrow so thats not the best thing to do ?
