All prefer Laika. There are several types of Laika. Those that hunt mostly all originally from Russia. Perhaps because local hunters in touch with hunters from Russia. From there they bring the best dogs among Laika. Elkhound ( some call them Norwegian Laika ) as I know that they are close relatives with Laika. I've heard they are good hunters and some hunters use them in Ukraine but not very popular between hunters in my region. I suspect that someone mixes Laika with Elkhound. In my region Elkhound very often used as a home dog , as they a good guards and they behave well with kids.

Many of my friends are using Laika for hunting for wild boar and badgers, but they now have to admit that Jagd no worse on the surface. And in dense bushes even better. Pretty good work in tandem, Laika and Jagd. Many are already planning to buy a Jagd to help larger dog in finding and working in dense bushes . Like it or not but Jagd has a fairly wide range of uses.

That pic looks like the yote's up here - they are clever critters we generally go out with 3 dogs - 1 patti and 2 APBT. I know of a few packs around our area and I wish we could hunt at night like the Americans, then we'd might have more success. But with that being said my terrain might make it a bit too difficult to hunt at night. I wish I could hunt them at night too. officially banned .... But I do not know whether it would be effective? Needed practice. The animal are not stupid. We are waiting for the snow.

They are remarkable little dogs. I have a few down here and they have proven to be excellent all rounders. They have a very high prey drive, excellent noses and above all, they trail bark which is what I need for hunting Sambar. The only genetic issues I am aware of is PLL (Primary Lens Luxation) in some lines. The problem affects the eyes in many terrier breeds including some Jagd Terriers. You don't want to understand that this is no more a matter of one country, and I have nothing against your nation or any other gonetoearth, so don't become paranoid!
