  1. Totally confusing, with my open certificate I could shoot your two farms with any of my rimfires or my centrefire (25.06) . Is your FEO concerned by your lack of experience,if so why just on one farm? In your position i would call your FEO and ask him to explain why he is imposing this restriction and how long he intends to impose it . if he does not explain his reasons ,how can you be expected to remedy the problem. Good luck and remember you are simply asking for a reason that he should be happy to supply.
  2. I've just aquired a 17 and wasn't sure of the cleaning routine. Found this helpful, thanks to one and all.
  3. Sadly it would appear we are trying to halt the tide on this issue . I cannot speak for what is happening in England but in Scotland many landowners are now demanding a minimum of DSC Level 1. The new law of making the landowner responsible for the actions of their employees has them making all attempts to cover their posteriors. As a recreational stalker it could be debated that you are not an employee but untill a case goes through the courts this is a grey area. I have no wish to be the first to test this. So it would appear that compulsory Level 1 is on the cards. I have NSCC, Level !, Lev
  4. If you were to try and hit a fence wire at 100yds plus you would struggle, try to miss it when shooting at a deer and sod's law kicks in.The effect on the bullet is then unpredictable, best wait for another day no matter how private the land or how safe the shot.
