  1. I've read through most of the comments on this thread and come to the conclusion .. If anyone who is just starting out wildfowling comes onto this forum looking for any information and advice .. then would be devastated at half the comments on hear and find know help at all .. shooting geese with 5s 6s . Is just showing a lack of respect for your quarry ... If you was going to fell a tree you wouldn't take a hand saw would you .. you would take a chainsaw ... Let's not forget people it's all about a quick clean kill ..
  2. If your using 76 mil cases & loads in your gun .. just check that your gun is approved to take the pressure .. there's alot of 76 mil high performance steel loads on the market now .. most people don't even think about checking there guns they presume because it's a 76 mil case & load there gun will fire them ok .. so just Check first ..

  8. I've home loaded a few cartridges over the years and found now days its time consuming there id plenty of good factory loads out there that's resll competitive now days .what I do now is if there's any new ones come onto the market during the summer I buy a nox of each and pattern test them through my gun if there better thsn the ones I'm using ,then I will go back buy a good amount snd use them on everything I'm shooting through the summer ie it be pigeons , ,crows , clays and so on .then come the seaon it's not a shock to you and you can't blame the cartridges . I shoot steel at everything
  9. I use mainly hen birds most part of the season inland and on the foreshore .if I'm inland then I'll use up to 10 decoys all hen birds through most of the season then towards yge end I will put the odd Drake in with them . I anker them down with fishing weights with a good strong cord , I use para shoot cord it's strong and does not rot in salt water. doing the same if I'm shooting pools on the marsh . now if I'm shooting a tide flight or a dropping tide , I use a long line with 3 decoys on , I have 2 sets of these again both wigeon but one with a Drake bird at the back of the 3 because th
