  1. The wife says kids are a must first before I'm allowed a dog! This could put a spaniel back by a couple years.
  2. I might have time for that aswell, working 2x3 in the NorthSea.
  3. My firm. Would have to fabricate some illaberate excuse! But a month sounds just a bout right with the fowling ending feb 20th!
  4. Hello Bodach, great Highland word, just wonder how many of our friends in the south understand its meaning. I'm new to the forum and to the sport but a keen still water fisher also have the odd crack at pay and play clays. Just received my SG certificate, good to see a fellow Highlander on here.
  5. Morning All, As mentioned in previous posts, I have recieved my SG certificate whilst im offshore and having put my deposit down with my local FAD on a Baikal 12g O/U. I've been scanning ebay and several other sites to gather the essentials required to get myself started with wildfowling over both stubble fields and mudflats. From the list below is there anything im missing? 12g Pull through snake Bisley 12g Gun cleaning kit Snap caps Gun slip Neoprene chest waders Camo netting Hide poles Game bag Cartridge belt And yes, I have Considered getting myself some cartridges!
  6. It feels like I'm flooding this forum at the moment! With the wildfowling season drawing to a close later next month, I was wondering what to do to keep my hand in? With Rothiemurchus Sporting Clay Shoot half an hour down the road, and having made neumerous visits, I think i could quickly tire of the Clays, and repetitiveness that may come with it. With the family owning a small croft adjacent to a birtch wood and with my mentality of shooting for the pot! What Quarry would you all suggest persuing with the afore mentioned Baikal 12g o/u?? Any feedback would be appriciated.
  7. Following on from my intro post, I mentioned the Baikal IJ-27E i have left a deposit on with Grahams of Inverness, our local firearms dealer. The gun is an old model twin triggers and fixed choke at half and full. Some research online tells me that from the engraving, rather than stamped detailing on the steelwork, the gun dates from between 1970-1976?? Obviously proofed for lead given the period, could anyone advise me as to alternative shot types which may be used safley through the chokes. My intention was to be looking to take down a goose or two over the next couple of weeks over stub
  8. Good evening all, This is a first for myself joining a forum! Not that tecno minded so I thought I'd give it a try. I submitted my SG application to our Licencing Dept at Northern Constabulary, and was delighted at the speed of the response! Two days after submitting the application my referee was on the phone to say that he'd been contacted and he'd done the nesscary. Working offshore i was shocked when the wife told me that later that week they had being on the phone to arrange an interview and inspect me storeage facilities. With the cabnet still in the garage, it was strait home t
