  8. if you are wanting to shoot foxes and rabbits you need a big enough caliber to kill a fox but cheap enough to kill rabbits. i suggest something on the lines of a .222 will do both jobs well. you could even have a go at reloading your own bullets. load both light weight bullets for rabbits and 50grn bullets for fox. see how it goes
  9. .222 .223 .22/250 .243 they are all good calibers for foxing. i think the .222 and .223 are up with the best due to the flat trajectory therefore been able to shoot further, however they are lighter bullets so are blown around with wind.
  10. i have just received my .222 back from being screw cut. it cost £75 and if i wanted the barrel shortening and recrowning it would of been an extra £20
  11. can anyone give any advise on the optimum range of zero for a .222 used for lamping foxes usually shot out to 250 yards. but would like to have all round range where i could shoot a crow at 50 yds?
  12. hi im tim from halifax west yorkshire. i have been shooting rifles for 6 years. very keen on lamping foxes in the evening. i use a remington 700 BDL .222
  13. I am looking for a new scope for a remington 700 bdl .222. it would mainly be used for lamping foxes at night. maybe sitting out baiting them. i am interested in the schmidt & bender 8x56 as i hear they let a lot of light in for shooting in low light. however i dont know much about the scope. can anyone help please?
