    I read on one of the forums that it was about 4% but some people said it got them really drunk. You get testing kits from wine shops I think.

    going by reading on various sites plastic was safer as its pretty gassy stuff and I had to release the pressure on the bottles at least once a day. If it is the right bottle and cage tops then maybe that would be ok but I wasnt sure my glass bottles with the stoppers were up to the task so played safe.

    get your citric acid on ebay. cheap as .....well citric acid! i think its used for those bath bomb things and its a nightmare to get from chemists as its apparantly used to cut certain drugs. wouldnt like snorting that!

    I would think going by previous adverts I have seen for part trained labs £750 plus but it depends on how red its pedigree is. Not a bad idea as a decent pup can set you back £500 plus these days.

    I intend making some but word of warning. Use plastic bottles. Its volatile stuff!

    Labs are great for beating with but not all will adapt to both beating and picking up. Very much depends on the cover, amount of birds etc. My old lab used to work well not far in front of me and was excellent for flushing in small game covers or woodland but then I started picking up more often and she got a bit wild. Also my OH taking her out shooting hares in the spring one year made her think she was a lurcher so I have to watch her like a hawk out beating. Ideally I would start my youngsters in the beating line on a lead if this was ok with the keeper etc as it gets them used to the s

    Sounds like a neat wee staff. I was told there was staff put in to cocker spaniels somewhere back the line but whether there is any substance to that or not I wouldnt like to say.

    Quite the photographer Ragemup. Guess the spare room will have to have your name on the door as you'll be in residence regularly for vermin control. April should be a busy old time for you boys. I wont be on camera fetching duty for you this time tho
