  1. , the main reason i created it was to get a base point to move forward to get the lines and breed back to its former glory.. i know its an up hill struggle but nothings impossible

:whistling: Im glad you're young, as you have that as excuse.... :clapper:

truth is, it's a pipe dream lad, it's never going to happen, were all the stories told in the past exagerated tales of super beddies... who knows ??

There are good bedlingtons out there, there are lads that dig there dogs I know, there are those who wouldn't dare post on internet sites but have good digging bedlingtons... the real addendum is, in general most bedlingtons are shit and a lot of terriermen wouldn't give them space in an empty kennel...

You are spot on SJ ! There will not be a rush on beddys , there is a few that work them well but the lines are being diluted ! Like the type Coco has bred , Terrier lads pup is out of murphy (Tango -Piper ) Any luck on a dog for milly ? Been in contact with a few few people that work them and in my opinion some are getting a bit slight .Seen a stunning bitch down somerset way out of murphy (your line) strong but still 14" digs to her . He has thrown some nice pups .We will never be looked on as propper terrier men , but do i give a fcuk ! Mine gives me sport and suits my style perfect , each to their own !

  2. Brodie is looking well with you , he has good bloodlines ! Sire is murphy , G sire piper , G dam tango SJs breeding . The lakey blood on sires side is nailor , on dams side who was scruffy a 1/2 cross beddy lakey , dont know much about only a hard bitch , there is n stevens stuff . Put the time into the dog and you should have a good little worker . Good hunting this season . We have 2 pups out of a mistake mating of your dog to Newburns bitch , 1 is gone to a pet home (to big ) the bitch pup is coming on well .

  3. Looks like you are getting plenty of work SJ :clapper: Millys looking well ! Nice pics David . Just been looking at the blood lines of Cochyn and Bron , had them sent down to me as i am sorting out the blood lines of my dog !Its signed by your own fair hand SJ dated 02/07/93 . It will take me a while to sort it all out but there is info that will be a shame to lose . Good hunting to you both and keep this thread going , will post some pics when i learn how ! :icon_redface:

  4. ok i want the dog to complament my mates dog for ferreting ,marking holes, flushing etc.... and to take airgunning and company for me in the van

and who is this nicky i know hes a breeder but where is he from does he have a web site????

Nicky Newburn is a good working dog man from up Halifax , not a breeder as such , he has a dog pup there now out of a lining from his dog to a good fox bitch , threw only dog pups . A beddy sounds perfect for you needs , give me a shout when you want a pup , as there may be a litter nearer you next year . Pups now gone .

  5. ok so if i want one who in your opinion has good stock?

ive heard a lot about someone called nicky?

Yes nicky does have good stock , got a dog off him last year coming on very well . Depends on what you want to work ? If you want a out and out earth dog (in my opinion) get one with a good dash of lakey in it . Go for a pup off some one who works them regulary not just the odd rat ! Not every pup out of a litter is going to make good workers , but if the lines are there you have less of a gamble . Ask on hunting forums when you are ready for a pup , and hopefully somebody will point you in the right direction . Read swansea jacks post on bedlingtons on this site , a excellent thread ,very knowledgable guy on working beddys .

  6. try 'Landywood Pet Foods'..............just google it,they have everything you will need as well as info on amounts etc.

I wouldn't use Landywoods as they delivered me 200lbs of rotten tripe then they had the cheek to ask for payment :clapper: I told then where to go.

I use TPMS there meat is second to none.

    TPMS WEBSITE

Ask to speak to Adrian he'll beable to help you

I use TPMS and their products and delivery is spot on .

  7. i got the bedlington dog last night, i have him on trial for as long as i want and the lad i got him off is a good mate of mine, he got him off nicky a few weeks ago and said he was a neverous wreck when he got him, hes ok now but will need a months or so before i even try him. hes 14" jet black and 13 months old and has the best coat i have ever seen on a beddy, close and real harsh, hes got a good head as well and a nice set of nashers. so far hes been no trouble.

if he makes the grade my mate only want 150 for him so i think its a bargain for a 13 months old pup. i'll do my best to put pics of him up later. cheers keith

ps. my mates said he was out of nickys old blue bitch to a small strong dog with both of them showing working marks etc. has anyone seen them and what were they like.

The 3 times this year i was at Nickys the dog was not a nervous wreck or any of his dogs ! Your mate paid £100 for the dog , i saw the dog a day or 2 before your mate picked it up and it was a bundle of energy . A bit of bullshit flying about here i think !

  8. them red uns are worked hard looking at them the white dog that got called best in show looks nothing more than a show dog in my eyes

it was just a question/ i didnt stay long enough for best in show, wrong choice for best pup.just my opinions

It was my bedlington pup that had best pup , and there are not many lovers of the breed in the valleys ! But i love the old working type . :victory:
