suppose if thick people are prepared to throw that amount money on a dog , well fool them. many a time on my dog walk i bump into these type of people  who treat the dog as human, this is the real prob deep down . they ask me when they see me what kind of dogs mine are, i say smaller one Bryn1x collie x grey , the 2nd the big one Buck 1x gsd x grey , i ask what they paid  for there cockerpoos or what ever designer dogs they got, norm they say £ 800 - 1000  quid, i tell them Bryn £ 40 quid , Buck £ 15 quid price of a ferret lol, there totally  fooked  , they dont know what to say  ha ha  , i tell them all dog shit and piss the same , if you want nice healthy dog go to your local pound , and get a mongrel  = lurcher, they looking for a chance in life and  only cost £ 50 quid  tops  .

it could be a injury some where or the dog just plain and simply doesnt want it. but imo its strange for a dog to change that much without a reason. youth and enthusiasum can make a dog look like its got something more than it actually has but theres no telling whats going on in there head.

The dog i am running now chucked the towel in just before his 3rd birthday. he would go down the beam to a rabbit if he missed it out the squatt he would pull straight of it, then others he would half heartedly chase for a small distance then stop. his behavior changed a little at home aswell. i checked him over couldnt see anything wrong. i rested through the summer he started off well the following season then after a few outings went back to pulling up and some times even refusing to run. then one night i watched him run a rabbit in some rape and as he went to pick it up he yelped and started limping. turns out his front due claws were giving problems, had them removed hes 7 on the 25th of feb and hasnt looked back since.

if his dewclaws were playing up for that long you would notice, its a big bone like you thumb and they swell, you say theres no telling whats in the dogs head,il tell you how to find out, pick a 3 mile run with a few hills, run it against the clock every day for a month then that way you will get some idea

No I'm probably not as hard, I'm apparently not as funny as it either. It was a joke fella, sarcasm from the person generally considered a stereotypical 'unhard' nerd amongst the members of this forum. Clearly my talents aren't in stand-up! :icon_redface:

    ok

'talk to the vet' is a euphuism for putting him down. IMO if a dog is aggressive and can't be controlled should be put down. Even 30 years ago dogs that didn't make the grade were simply put down - now we drop em off at the dogs trust and pass the problem on to some other poor soul.

when you said talk to the vet i took it the wrong way,and for that I'm sorry, all the best to you

For what it is worth here is my advice

    ·         If the dog has actually attacked another dog or you are at all worried it will, you need to muzzle it for its own and other dog’s protection.

    ·         All dogs have it in them to actually attack other dogs but larger dogs with powerful mouths can be very dangerous.

    ·         Hitting an untrained dog to stopping it going nuts at another dog is completely counterproductive. They might stop for that single moment (which might be important if they have attacked another dog) but they won’t have learnt anything apart from to be warry of you when other dogs are around which is exactly what you don’t want.

    ·         Never shout at a dog.  All a dog hears is you barking very loudly – which is what you are doing.

If your dog is being aggressive but you can control it try to socialise it with other dogs. This really is the only way of solving the problem. You need to start with one dog. I would try to work with someone you know with a bitch of equivalent size. Try to gradually get them together in a field or a park.  Make sure your dogs is having a great time and let the other dog come near to you. As they approach you need to up the fun. If your dog starts to become aggressive don’t stop the fun but get the person to walk away with their dog.

If your dog is being aggressive and you can't control it then you need to probably talk to a vet.

its worked for thousands of years, your the boss they do as their  told,if they don't you put them in their place.not all this modern day shit.going to see the vet wold like be going to the butchers for an hair cut.

He is a bloody brilliant family dog, it's be a shame to think about putting down. I think the giving him a good crack might just work. I have him on a half choker and he just strangles himself. He's always been a very anxious dog. It's a feckin shame, I had hoped of going on walks through valleys and up hills but I can't take the b*****d to the shops ?

get a little horse whip and use it on him that way you don't do any damage to the dog,and there a good chance it will work.

Homeopathy isn't using plants as medicine it's a whole different (and thoroughly debunked) philosophy of how illness comes about and how it can be cured. It's based on the idea that "like cures like" and giving a small, incredibly diluted dose of the thing that caused the illness will cure it. Homeopathic treatments are so heavily diluted there's literally no active ingredients in them (which is a good thing in a lot of cases because if there were they'd be deadly!) so any positive effects from the treatment can only come from placebo or the bodies natural healing mechanisms.

it works on snake bites, the problem today is being to clean, weak immune system nothing to fight back with
