yep, been to the famous chippie in Anstruther twice and it is just another chippie, albeit busy as you say. Broughty Ferry has a couple of very decent chippies. But the best chippie I ever had was in Dorset a couple to three years ago when on hols staying in Toller Porcorum. The chippie was a shack by the shore in Bridport - battered rock fish 2" thick - stunning - I felt like weeping when I left knowing it would be many years brfore I had another or would match it elsewhere. The batter...!

Agreed, it is a bit of "a glorified boot sale" but its still worth a visit ;-)
