  1. thanks that sounds sensible advice i was worried i might have left it a little late hes just turned 10 months.
  2. I was just wondering if anyone has any usefull tips to get my dog to jump from set to finish? I'm sure there may be something to save me time and injury to the dog.
  3. Thanks for the advice, I have a lurcher that's bred grey/whippet x greyhound/kelpie and I've noticed he nips a lot at my other dog. He usually drags him t the floor by the scruff of his neck. Is that a normal thing for a kelpie to do ? And to clarify why my name is thieving mac is because my lurcher is called mac an he's a brilliant dog other than pinching everything and hiding or burying it somewhere. Don't want anyone to think I'm referring to myself. And just to add that's a very well built dog above I hope mine fills out a bit soon.
  4. Does anybody know if kelpie lurchers differ much from that of a collie?
  5. Chances are it is too far away but if you are near Barnsley at high gate dog track they have a fur and feather market there is a stall that usually have it
  6. Iv always wondered why you don't here much about breeds like Labrador or spaniel cross sight hounds. A dog with a good nose and retrieving ability like a working gun dog seems a sensible option to be crossed with a greyhound for rabbiting. Is there anyone who's experienced this breeding or got any pics. Just to add there probably might be a good reason why you don't see them I'm open to all ideas.
  7. Thanks for the advice, Im going to keep my eye out in te trade in sections see what's about
  8. I'm thinking of getting a pre charged air rifle and scope with a budget of 600 quid. Could anyone recommend anything? Iv been looking into an air arms s200 but no nothing about air rifles. Any help would be really appreciated.
  9. Thanks for the advice, it's so confusing there's so many theorys. Up to now he's been out with other dogs and seen them run and he's retrieved the caught rabbits once dispatched and carried them back to the car. A year is about the average time I've been told so I think that will be it
  10. I'm new to the sport and I've got a greyhound/whippet x greyhound/kelpie. He's now almost 8 months and his basic obediance is good. Does anyone have any experience with a similar breeding with regards to introducing them to work?
