  1. Hihas anyone any experience with lurcher x kelpie dogs ?
  2. Hi I,m looking at getting a new lurcher pup but I,m still not sure my last two have been 5/8 3/8 collie greyhound from hancocks and have been really good workers but a more local breeder has a greyhound/kelpie cross does anyone work them or know any further details about them ?
  3. No problem just let me know when you fancy having ago pike sound like the fresh water barracuda just on a smaller scale lol
  4. What type of piking do you won’t to do? I prefer lure fishing this time of year for better results as the water is warmer and they tend to wont to take lures rather than dead baits, although this is different between waters I’d try doing a little of both I often on short sessions take a dead baiting rod and lure fish around it if nothing happens after say 30 min simply pick up and move a few hundred meters further down the bank this can prove very good in some cases. Try so steer away from using carp rods for dead baiting they are ment for casting small baits out and bringing big fish in,
  5. I find its dependent on the lure size I use 80lb power pro with my really big lures (BULLDAWGS) but 10/12lb for my light weight perch/pike spinning rod.
  6. I use braid for all my fishing and have do for the last few years it totally changed lure fishing for me it makes the experience a lot more in touch with the fish. I suppose its each to their own and there is good and bad braids I have used several different types but I’ve found POWER PRO by far the best lol i dont think its your casting try not loading your spool up as much as you would with mono this wont affect your cast for distance. what braid are you using ?
  7. Danny here just like to say hi to you all, and look forward to some interesting conversation with fellow field sportsmen. My main interest is pike fishing I fish most of the Cumbrian lakes and believe I have a good understand of methods techniques on the waters I fish. I have fished for over 25 years I also rough shoot and lamped until resent where my job has me working overseas so the lamping is on the back burner until my permanent return to the UK. I am looking into setting up in guided pike fishing in Cumbria, so if anyone has any questions on pike fishing Cumbria please don’t
