    Volvo XC 60, pretty much 31mpg however we drive it in whatever conditions. 215bhp 5 cylinder diesel on a 11 plate. Before that we have had Skoda Octavia Scout 4x4, 57 plate, 45mpg and 2 Nissan Xtrails, 53 plate and 54 plate, both 2.2 diesels, at about 40mpg. Regards Mark

    If you want a cheap scope and the tackle shop sells SMK, do they not have the lower end SMK ones in? New these are £10 - £20. As for cleaning, I have been told not to bother with an air rifle unless you are changing pellets and testing accuracy. Even then you will need to lead the barrel back in with the new pellets. I got a rifle slip for my son's SMK XS15 from our local shop for £6. Never going to set the world alight with quality, but keeps the gun covered in public between the car and the gun club.     Bought my son a SMK XS15 last week, for the princely sum of £65 new. My son is a reasonably average build and strength 10 year old, he can cock and load the rifle with a little effort. The XS15 also has an auto safety, which I like. The aim is to learn gun safety and discipline, as well as shooting skills and then he can progress onto the Brocock Contour he seems to have set his sights (pardon the pun) on. Regards Mark

    One of the guys on (dare I say it) another forum has used camo tape to good effect. Took a few hours to do well, but presuming this is a MUCH cheaper route than dipping and easier to reverse if needed. http://www.airgunforum.co.uk/forums/anything-airgun-related/134448-afternoon-off-work-roll-camo-tape-bored-man-walk-into-spare-room.html Might be an option to consider.
