  6. had a meeting for our local show where we have a strong dog class every year it came up that at the local agri show the week before that a staffy throttled a llewnny setter it made the local radio the people there didnt know how to seperate the dogs so there was only one outcome. the upshot of it is this year all strong dogs at the show will have to be muzzled . Thats fair enough ,you have a valid reason for the muzzle and at least your still having the class for them,Jelly
  7. jelly the day in kilkenny the man that had the beagle was told to pull it away because it was growling at glen he didnt listen there a certain crowd dont want the big dogs at the shows they seem to have the saybut anyone can walk around with a rottwiler plus the hav classes for bull hounds one of theses day we wont be left bring workers p.s remenber the good old days in kilmeaden with the likes of ed reid and rb judging strongdogs ken gould joe heffern terrier You hit the nail on the head,it could have been any dog at that show in kilkenny that bit that beagle,but its a certain few that do

Hi all,i have asked this question before and still haven,t got an answer,maybe im stupid,but why are strong dogs "ie staffs" being excluded from so many shows,in Ireland.I was at a show today,brought my staff with me, even though there was no class for him,it was just a day out.I tried to put him in the large pets class ,with the hope of winning a bag of nuts ,but was refused.I was told what if he snapped at something,i said this was a dog show and any dog there could snap at another dog.Maybe im missing the bigger picture,thanks Jelly Ps the flyer did say no strong dogs,but the dog that won
  10. where about up north Tullylish on the sat 21st of aug, 15 min outside newry about 50 min from dublin , Classes for all strong dogs , NO BANNED BREEDS THANKS, more details closer to the time , great show well worth the spin, i was told of a new one in dublin with strong dogs but not sure if its going ahead, i'm sure theres more coming up soon, i'll let you know if i hear of any mate Thanks mate
