  1. I have been into working terriers for over 11 years now and just in the last 6 months was the first time I have ever heard of wheeler bred patts. Who is this person, where do they live, why did they start their own line, how long have they been bred, what strain are they out of originally or where they just a local bunch of stuff, are they any good, what are they best at (locating, drawing, killing, pretty self evident from the looks of them), and why haven't I heard of them until now? Lots of questions, and I am not a newbie to this stuff. They may just not be a common thing over here. Don't
  2. I know people who have used them on groundhog, raccoon, fox, badger, possum, wild hogs, bobcats, coyotes, pheasant, grouse, rabbit, rats, etc. The list is as long as you want. Use it on whatever you like and you will find out the results. I know of somebody who has treed black bear with russells, but not intentionally. They will either be into it, or not. The limit.......why would there be a limit? Nate
  3. Not a pic of me or my dogs, but it is my terrier box in the back of my truck, sorry only pic I have. Holds two terriers in each compartment, one male and one female, or one larger dog, my female airedale fits fine. She is about 22in and 48lbs. I coated it with Linex, used for truck bed-liners. Very indestructible. Insulates well from what I have seen too.
  4. Congrats! I've had many a farmer tell me that if I don't remove ALL predators from his property at all times of the year, that I am not welcome back. I don't like to kill young or not-mature varmints, but if they are costing my farmers money year round, then I have a job to do. It comes down to this, your dogs did without your permission what they are bred to do and did it right. You can't always plan for this to happen, but the end result was game in hand. Good job from me. Nate
  5. Nice looking patt., how's she bred? Like the build a lot. Nate
  6. Excellent working pics. Catching game is all that is important to me, otherwise I would own fish, much cheaper to keep! LOL
  7. Thank you for the kind words. He is retired from coon hunting as he got Coon Hound Paralysis this winter. He has recovered fully but will never hunt coons again. I will try him on beaver, fox, and the real bad boy.
  8. Great looking pics. That is what I like to hear. People still using a dog for intended purpose, drawing, whatever the game may be........Check your PM staffy. Nate
  9. Here's a couple pics of Creeping Death Militia, nasty little buggers they are! May not be good looking, but they definately help me catch game. Kimber Butcher Puss Sampson Briar I have a couple new ones without pics yet. Best group of dogs I have ever owned. Nate
  10. Looking for anybody with working wheatons or Glens. Needing some info on style of work and size. Not interested in hearing about pets or show dogs and how they act like workers. I need them for hole dogs in the states for coyotes and the big boy. We have a year round season here on them and instead of crossing up my own mix of patterdale, staffy, airedale, jagd, whatever, I would like to try a purebred dog that has been used for a long time on "big game". Any help appreciated. Nate
  11. Just wanted in intro myself, my name is Nate and I live in the states. I have 7 terriers, 6 patterdales and 1 airedale. I hunt year round on coons and whatever else we find with the dogs....Came here to see some good working dogs and talk dogs. Been working terriers for 11 years. Started with a Russell and have owned Jagdterriers, but no just out of preference have patterdales. I look forward to catching up and posting some. Nate
