  1. This is the last photo i took of my days hide shooting over bait before my blackberry ran out of battery Few weekends ago. Infront of me, through the hole there was a large beech tree at a lased 39 yards, while my bait of a pigeon was dead on 25 yards just of the base of the beach tree (still in plain view). I took 1 squirrel, 1 pigeon, 5 rooks (there is a small rookery around 100 yards off my permission that the rooks were starting to leave and wander around coming my way) and missed 1 magpie, and 1 more crow. All opportunities came from the top of the beech tree. The great thing abo
  2. superb shooting there Benjamin! Had a recent shoot last weekend with similar results with my tx. All tips on here seem pretty sound, the only thing i would say is when you find your chosen location to lay the bait, if your sitting out in the open, keep your movements to an absolute minimum, as the crows and magpies will be on the look out. I always build a substantial hide with a roof and shoot through a small hole. i find that i can stay comfortable, and have a sandwich or a brew while the action is quiet without spooking anything. Just how i do it, but i'm sure there's many ways to
  3. Bud, i would'nt be without mine. Infact i'm after either another tx200hc or prosport in .177. My HC is around 11 years old, probably had around 10000 pellets down the barrel since new and it's never been serviced, just kept warm and dry, and has never failed me once. Best springer ever!!!
  4. this is where i will be going. Better photos to come. Cheers
  5. Hey all, just got enough time today to zero the old TX with some new accupells in .22. Hopefully should be out Sunday after a few Crows/Magpies, weather permitting!! Shoots taken at a lased 31yards,5 shot group, .22 accupell, benchrested.(indoors!) If any thing comes close to that range, hopefully should be in the bag!! Pics to come.
  6. thanks for the comments. I'm no chippie but i'm fairly proficient with my hands, so i gave it a go. It's the original beech stock just cut out the section and raised it on two dowels to get the height that i wanted. Gun is around 10 years old and all internals are original so i might send to sandwell field sports (heard good things about them on this forum) Also after another mk2 in standard length or hc in .177, just waiting for the right one.
  7. Hey all just spent the afternoon reviving my old tx200hc mk2 and scope. Anyone else out there done something similar and wants to show it off?
  8. hey there, i know it's a long shot (no pun intended!) but is the gun still for sale?
  9. Hey, is this still for sale and what calibre? Cheers.
  10. hey thanks. I was doing a bit more digging last night and it would appear that you are right, but i would be looking at around £150 for the barrel and chamber. With all the other work it needs, it's not going to be viable. Shame.
  11. I'm new here so please be gentle!!!! Just purchased a very well used hw77 long barrel for a very good price. I would really like to bring it back to its fromer glory. It's a.22 but i would really like to have it converted to .177 and obviously have the internals tuned to match. Any one know if this is possible and who could do it? (photos comining soon)
