I must say, you do know how to bring a rifle back to life bigmac. I've been reading the other thread with the rifle you are currently working on and I am impressed.
Quality mate!

I'm not too bothered what it is worth if I'm honest. I was just intrigued, I think I will try and restore it sometime in the near future.
-
Ahh right, thanks for that anyway mate.
-
That's it mate, thanks. It looks a bit older than that and has a few stuffs on the stock.
I didn't even bother looking on the internet because I didn't think I would find anything for it.
Do they still make air rifles?
-
Hello, I'm new to the air rifle section and I have recently purchased my first rifle which is a TX 200 HC and I am absolutely loving it!
But the reason I am posting this is because at work last week I was given an old air rifle from a parts supplier. I am useless at uploading pictures so all I can tell you is that it has "original" on the barrel and MOD.50
Any of you experienced air gunners know what manufacture this is?

I like that uru, really nice.

Cracking litter and a perfect cross. If I was in the market for a lurcher I would be ripping your hand off for one of these.
Good luck with the sale

Where is this show held? Could you put the details up please, or message them.
Thanks

Just looks like a show certificate IMO. Maybe best in show

I've never had any pedigrees with my dogs because on the main part they have just been "worker to worker" and to be honest they have all amounted to nothing. Admittedly a lot of it is through making mistakes but when it comes down to it I know I would much rather have a pedigree behind my dogs. A genuine pedigree that is, it is good to know what is in there so if you ever get that "special" worker you can try and continue the line with your own input.
I have the brother to dead eyes' bitch and I have a pedigree for one side of this dog (whether it's true or not, I'm not 100% certain.
If the dog ever turns into that "special" worker then when the time comes I will do my best to trace the ancestory of him and maybe use him over a bitch. That though is a long way away and time will tell.

Good read, I like dh as an author. In my opinion he is the best author for terrier work books. Really enjoy reading he's books.

High points getting bitch pup going this season and not blanking at all low points finally realising the younger generation of terrer lads will be the death of this sport with the way alot of them conduct themselves out in the field then showing it all on social media disgraceful
Not all of us young lads are the same, granted, there are a large number that are stupid and don't have a clue but there are a few good terrier lads that are young lads. I'm certainly not as experienced as other men but I like to think I conduct myself in the right way and have respect for dogs, land, quarry and other men.
Not a dig at your post, just my take on things.

Low point, my young bitch not reaching the expectations I had for her. High points, digging to some good dogs of close friends and a young dog pup of mine shaping up nicely and looking interested. Time to enjoy the summer fishing and counting the days until next season.

I would just put it down to him being a young dog mate, that's what I'm doing with mine. As already said, if it becomes a regular occurrence then it's obviously a problem.

One of the best terriers I ever had early in his career would check earths at 1000 mph and passed quarry a couple of times.
He was like a headless chicken and a scatter brain. He settled down and became very reliable.
I'd rather see that than a terrier that looks over cautious going in.
Also when a young terrier fails to find or comes away I never ask them a second time.
I'd collar up a worker and let it go making sure the youngster see's the other terrier going.
It might think twice next time about coming out and ones that do come off (not saying your terrier did) by asking them to go back it's like telling them it's OK to come away. Terriers are a very jealous animal and if they thought another was getting what should be theirs they'll stay with it next time.
Some wise words there Neil, I had a similar problem a fortnight ago with my young bitch. This was pretty much her first time to ground and she went in but would not settle at one spot. After 40 minutes she showed with clear signs of contact.
I then let her go back and she ran the earth for another 45 minutes but could not find. I managed to grab her at a hole as she was travelling.
We then put an older bitch in and she found in a different side of the earth within 15 minutes, we dug her at 6foot.
Now that I look back, I should of maybe pulled her after the first time she showed.
I will be trying her again this week so hopefully it will be a better outcome.

Why in the mind would anybody want to get rid of a working terrier? They are the hardest things to come across in the hunting game. Any decent terrier lad would never get rid and a working terrier needs to be cherished in my opinion. And when I say working terrier I mean digging terrier.

I've got friends not to far away from there, I will pass the word on and tell them to keep an eye out.
