  1. Well played VM mate.

Reminds me of all the trouble I had with the pro sports and finally gave up and went back to HW. To be fair the problems you have had you wouldn't expect on a hatstand pcp let alone a day state.

Something tells me you will be very happy with your new HW. Fingers crossed for you buddy.

  2. Marmite guns the 95. I had a .22 one stage one tuned from Sandwell Field Sports and to start with I thought it was fantastic but then I started missing more than I was hitting with it and figured the hold sensitivity of it meant it was time to sell. It just didn't fit my build type and was way to light.

But others have fantastic results so it's all down to if it fits you.

  3. Thanks for your input zx12. obviously it would be wrong for us to comment as there is always two sides to a story and alot of people around that are happy to invent stories that never happened to put people off going in the shop. I will point out I am not aiming that at you.

I cant imagine Tony being like that if I am totally honest as I have NEVER heard him talk like that to anyone whilst I have been there, even people that are stood there testing his steel. Ive always known him to be fair and honest.

I'll have to ask him the next time I am up there if he recalls this episode.

    Happy shooting people.

  4. Another happy SFS customer. You really can't go wrong with Sandwell field sports. They are the only place I would get a springer tuned and my blog reflects this through their hard work and dedication to making sure their customers are happy.

It's really nice to see other shooters who have taken the time to do their research and then post a glowing report. Well played Tanican for taking the effort to post this.

I will add that I have not tried any other tuner so there could very well be better ones out there but from the start before they were massively advertised on Youtube I had my first rifle tuned from them and will never try another tuner as I am as happy as Larry with sfs.

    All the best

  5. Essentially both all rifles listed will be just as accurate or at least as accurate as you are. It just comes down to what shot count you desire. The bsa will give you more shots per fill. It will be heavier than the other two rifles I would imagine. Your choice really.

If it were me I would go for the R10.

  6. There are many well respected tuners out there I personally have always had my rifles tuned by Tony and the team at Sandwell Field Sports. I am so happy with the results time and time again he will always get my business.

If you find a tuner your happy with then stick with them. There are plenty out there these days and some would say we are spoilt with choice.

Most tuners work from home which puts me off as I'm not saying because of this they are not as good. What I am saying is I worry about my rifles to much. Ie will I have come back if the rifle suffers a fault. How easy is it to get the rifle back to them. What rights as a consumer do I have. At least with Sandwell they are a well established company with great customer service. I've never had an issue with not getting a fault fixed instantly there.

Ultimately it's your money and your rifle so you pick your choice and run with it.

I can't rate Tony and the team high enough at Sandwell Field Sports.

  7. The spring buzz or twang will be because of a series of factors. The biggest culprit is that your spring guide doesnt fit the spring properly and there is to much play there. Try taking your spring out and seeing if the guide is a nice tight fit, Also clean off the factory grease and use some bisley gun grease to relube the spring. You could also try polishing the spring ends to see if that helps eliminate any funny sounds. There are numerous things to try. Out of interest what rifle are you talking about with this problem.

  8. WXM  the factory Finnish of new HW's in some cases is shocking. Standards have slipped in the QC dept.

Agreed. But it also goes for most manufacturers including Air Arms who I reckon through cut backs have sacked their whole quality control department lol. However to most new people these rifles will be fine and fit for purpose. The more seasoned air gunner or perfectionist will always find a way to improve on what they have purchased.

For me I remember how springers were built back in the early 90's and the ones being churned out these days don't compare. For me I will always try and improve a new purchase. In answer to your question though tuning on the whole just means making the rifle smoother or more fit for purpose which all leads to greater accuracy as the rifle becomes less hold sensitive or less recoil. If you can produce good groups then it's up to you if you want to waste money. For me I always strive for perfection with my rifles. That holy grail. My shooting partner uses a rifle that's 20 years old and it is flawless just how they used to make them back in the day. And until yesterday had never been opened up or worked on. Get this though it still has the original spring and internals and the same factory grease. That's testament to the build quality of years gone by.

New rifles these days almost certainly benefit from a strip down as soon as you get them home to strip the poor grease the factory uses and regrease with good stuff.

  9. Hey chaps,

This is my quick video review on a brand new scope released by Hawke this week, There is very little about them on the internet other than Hawkes website so thought I would do a quick video overview.

These scopes have been designed in the UK especially for Airgun owners. I managed to buy this one from Sandwell Field Sports who have a short supply of them because they are that new. Most popular websites still have them showing "coming soon".

Sorry in advance for my rubbiish film quality and sound but like I said its just a quick overview.
