  1. Id agree abouts coats but how you can makeyour mind up about doffentlines etc from seeing a handfull of dogs run a few times is amazing your a better dog man than myself. All i can say is i have and still own a heartbreak dog i have ran him into the ground and he's never jacked or turned his nose up at anything, prey drive through the roof (still is) still gets out to put the boot in every now and again at 12 1/2, solid head, real strong jaw power, brilliant coat, excellent nose, the list goe's on and on. If i could have another i would but imo they dont come like this anymore, if im wro
  2. thats my only option at the moment but as u no its nice to be able to go out with a mate and his dogs hes only a pup so plenty of time to work on him yet
  3. totally understand ive had 14 dogs all differant crosses over years so i wont take the lack of experiance dig but i agree i should have kept an eye on not over working them ive since learnt from my mistakes thats what lifes all about thanks for your input though.
  4. not being cheeky. dont hunt in the summer and you will not have that problem i dont have this problem with my smooth coat bitch so i only run her in the summer and like u say the hairy dogs in the winter
  5. are be honist beddy ent my fortay but i didnt get on here to get into a school yard abuse throwing if iam not talikg from experince then why did i nearly lose not one but two dogs i clip my dog once a month through the summer as he looks tidier being though the misses is a dog groom i dont see why i shouldnt. i dont no were your taking this other then trying to abuse me like i said i was offering advise i dont want to create enamies on hear so i appologies if what i have said affended u i was only talikg from what i had xperinced
  6. have since the second one went down. but all i was stating was a personel appinion the lad asked for advice so thats was i gave him. would u not agree then rather then buy a dog u have to clip every few weeks through the summer a smooth coat that u can get out the kennel and go i may be talking rubbish but it works for me
  7. i am all year round but you have the best nights just after the harvest quote me if i am wrong. yes windy dark winter nights are amazing but i am talking 2 3 in the morning in the summer its still humid and it seams to effect hairy dogs thats all i was saying i have no problem with hairy dogs got two my self but smooth is best for all year round personnaly

  9. i forgot to mention try if u can to get a smooth coat as from my experiance summer nights blow broken coated dogs ive had a couple over heat luckely managed to save them were as my smooth bitch has done as much work or if not more on the same night and had no problems
  10. beddy wheaten grey cross amazing dogs 25-26 got good drive and 100% loyal to trainer
  11. my wheaten beddy greyhound was so much easier lol i wish she was still with us
  12. cheers lads looks like ive got my work cut out thing is i recon hes got what it takes to be a good single handed dog i am hoping if i put some good work into him he will return the favour were see as they are stubben f*****s some of these bull crosses lol

  14. he kennels well and eats ok with my other dogs but it only happens in the feild i hope its just because hes new to the kennel and hes trying to find his possision in the pack
  15. trouble is hes a 12 month old pup with serious attitude i quite like it but yeah at the moment i agree liability are see how he come on i have been offered an electic collar. are see what happens cant think of anything else other then letting him do it on his own
  16. i have had many types of lurchers over the years ranging from saluki crosses to beddlington whippets but i have come to a desision that bull crosses work best for me i have three of them at the moment but i have just brought a good one in from a mate but he will not work with other dogs he will lock on to what ever it is hes coursing and as soon as another dogs goes in to help him he turns on the dog and beats the other dog up looks like i might have to use him as a single handed dog as i dont want to be to ferm on him for fear of rouining him any suggestions cos this is the first one ive had
