yeah thats the one! i had a look at a few others, but this was by far the best one, cheers mate, ill give one ago eventually, do you use them double pegged? or just wider and longer than a standard purse net?

sounds like a good idea to me, might give that a go come summer, hopefully get out and do some longnetting first with a couple of mates of mine that use them, aha funnily enough thats when i found time to make my net! I get a funny feeling you will get hooked, dont know for sure but we will see, when you walk across the field and you can hear them squealing in the net, its better than christmas I can tell you, more so when its your own net just like ferreting, but even to make a 30 yd net for around the small set's when ferreting, its hard to describe for me I love it,even when you experiment a

Cheers for the reply, yeah I like the fact their custom to suit my needs, what kind of mesh pattern do you make them too? I started on 8 and worked up to 17 then back down. Most on here prefer a bigger net, myself included. I start with 12 on the ring, increasing a mesh every row to 19 then 5 rows of 20 then back down to 12.I used to unpick if I had a slip, but now I just cut the row below the slip off, unpick the knots and start the row again, I think its much faster and easier than unpicking 20 knots. ah right, i'll give that a go and see how i get on, 20 meshes sound like its gon

Initially bought the net making kit from agouti for 16.95...this makes roughly 12-15 3 '6 nets, even if I only made ten, that's 1.69 a net, that included two needles, mesh board, rings, twine and draw cord. So now when I buy from there again, I'll only be getting a spool of twine, and draw cord. You do the math

Thanks bud, that's what I'm hoping for don't think ill ever buy one off some one else again!
-
I did think that whilst I was making it, haven't tried long netting yet, or got any gate nets, might try my hand at a couple of them once I've done a few more purse nets
-
Thanks seany, can't believe how much you save! Same as anything though I suppose, buy in bulk and get a discount.

That's what I'm really looking forward to! Can't wait to get out on Sunday, hopefully get one hit my homemade net! Yeah great time filler, hoping the next one doesn't take as long aha.

First attempt at making a purse net was a success!! Few hiccoughs along the way, ended up having to undo almost an entire row, but in the end worked out really well! Twine, mesh board, rings, needles, and draw cord all purchased from agouti nets, then used two different video tutorials to help, one on YouTube done by Steve Henderson (I think that's his name) and the joining twine tutorial on agouti nets, looking forward to making more in my spare time, save myself some coin!
