  1. These are a few pics of next seasons hopefuls. The black dog is my 14 week old 3/4 grey 1/4 bull and hes looking like hes going to be very racey and tall. The white and brindle is the pup I bred. Hes a beddy, whippet, wheaton, grey x bull grey so a bitsa really. Hes got a good head and lookslike hes going to be quite a powerful dog when older. Hes 12 weeks on tuesday. These will be going through the sheep once jabbed up but are already doing the basics of sit, down, recall and retrieve so coming on quite well. So we will have to wait and see.
  2. The dog is still available. Now 11 wks old. I may be willing to meet anyone interested as I have now fixed the car.
  3. Hi Am I reading this wrong or are you about to buy a lakeland dog or go and view of I hope not the same mike1 you call pet the dog pedler . kipo Really really wish I had known this the week earlier. It was him who bought my bull x that was for sale because it killed a sheep. Gutted to get shut of the dog in the first place and now to find this out makes it even worse.

  7. Quick was not the word. One dog chased the rabbit and mine went out of the lamp. Shouted didnt return, found him at the bottom of the field attached to its throat. Sprinted down, and I aint slow, Winger 4 rugby club, and it was dead before I got there eyes still open but dead so dont know if he broke its neck but it was killed very quickly. The dog knew what he'd done though because as I got there he let go and moved away from it skulking around watching. Usually can shout this dog off stuff. If another dog gets hold and you tell him "dead" he has always let go where he stands as I cant be doi
  8. Really am gutted. Put a lot into him and hes showing so much potential. I even tried him with the electric collar when he was younger as he had a relapse. Thought Id cured him and could even run towards sheep making them scatter and he would run straight though without batting an eyelid, until last night which means I cant trust him and as 90% of the permission myself and friends have is sheep he has to go unfortunately.
  9. Sheep or dog? lol. Unfortunately my car radiator has just packed up otherwise I might have arranged to meet so at the minute sorry I cant deliver either sheep or dog

  12. Hi all, Unfortunately my bull x last night decided for some bizarre reason that he was going after a sheep and killed it. I dont know if it was frustration or what we have been out 4 times this week and only seen a few rabbits. I have run rabbits though sheep with him with no problems before but last night this changed. Due to the fact that a lot of my permission is sheep farms and I can no longer trust the dog he must go. He is 16/17 months old, 26" tts, jumps, retrieves works the lamp and daytime and is showing excellent potential and is fast for a dog his size. The dog is extremely k

  16. Hi all, I've just been given a canon eos 300d with two lenses. 1 is a 28-80mm and the other is a -200mm. Im hoping to get some pics of the dogs and general pics of mooching about but was wondering what the correct use for the two lenses is adn what the sizes mean. I know it sounds a bit stupid but I have never used a half decent camera with lenses before so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks The second lens is a eighty -200mm dont know what the emotion is about

  18. My first real deep dig was 12 foot on an old tip. Went through shreaded paper, glass and had to move a mattress. when we got down the dog had pushed on a couple of feet so had to tunnel slightly. Ive got a picture of that somewhere will try and get it up, u can see the step we dug into the hole to pass the spade up to. Last year had a mate whos dog went to ground in a one holer on a banking that we didnt know was there so no collar on dog. It was the first time the dog had been to ground too. Endde up sinking a few 8 foot holes and the last one was about 11 feet through all the rubble which ha
  19. Think that was probably for the best. Dont think theres many who wud have untangled that!
  20. Heard of Pheasants before but never seen it myself. A friend once bolted a stoat or a weasel from a warren but it was that quick that he couldnt decide which it was.
  21. Hi all Im just wondering what the stangest thing youve ever bolted when youve been out with the ferrets is? I only as as towards the end of last season I bolted a fox from a warren where we had just bolted two rabbits from minutes before the fox emerged. Now I know theres probably going to be all sorts of remarks from people about this and if I hadnt seen it myself I would have been a bit sceptical but here goes. We had been out for a few hours ferreting and had got a few rabbits when the lad I was with reminded me of some warrens on a tree lined bank in the middle of a field which we hadnt b
  22. We used to go on a farm which supplied bread to other farms for feed and had a tip at the back of it and we would go on every week with the terriers and catch 70+ and then go on through the week with the guns and take 40+ in a night. The most we ever took in one night was 76. I have never been anywhere like it. The rats were living in the block walls of his barns and it was absolutely filthy. Used to wash my hands in bleach before I left. Good fun but you felt gruby when youd been on.
  23. Walks really well to heel and the recall is flawless without distractions. Its just when there are other dogs around or even people he gets distracted. When he comes Give him praise and if he doesnt come I walk away at which point he usually returns but I want to try and stop him doing it in the first place as I know how annoying and sometimes intimidating it can be when a strange dog comes bounding over to you and the owner cant control or recall their dog. Is it just a case of persevere or is there something else I can do?
