  1. I've not quoted anybody in that thread about the pound. All I ever really comment on was Defence. no problem mate, my bad
  2. we would have better control than we do at the moment, fact
  3. He won't listen to facts only BS fed to him. Waste of time educating him as his next reply shows "more like 10-15 years with more brutal cuts" His grasp of economics is elemental at best, the fact that the UK's growth has outsripped everyone else in the EU seems to have floated over his head! you pick and choose when to reply to me, one second you say you wont then you do.. then ignore certin things to reply with insults like back in primrary i dont get everything right, nor do i expect to you are so far up yourself
  4. uk public poll says yes
  5. we would still have more/better control of our £,(7% at moment) using it more wiser than the uk gov
  6. ok scotlands deficit isnt as bad as uks even now we would be in a better position to look after the country, much better better than uk, most countrys except norway are running at a loss, if scotland is runing better at moment than uk, whos to say it wont be better in a few years? lets not keep pissing everything against a brick wall
  7. someone said in the scottish indy thread or quoted carmichael, i think it was BH, about no pound etc the problem is him and no members keep changing what they tell us, how can anyone put faith in no, when they dont even know themselfs an interview in November 2013 he specifically said that George Osborne, Danny Alexander and Ed Balls should avoid ruling out a currency union, stating: ““I don’t think that it would be sensible for George Osborne, Danny Alexander, Ed Balls or anybody else to be one hundred per cent categoric [sic] about [currency]…” then there darling
  8. more like 10-15 years with more brutal cuts
  9. But fecking heroes . . . .like Iceland. If only we would tell them to do one. You mean Iceland that already had a currency of it's own and now no-one will lend to them without crippling concessions also they have the credit rating of a dole dossing smack rat I vote yes! Give Scotland it's independence we'll keep the debt and the pound you can take f**k all go it alone and in 5-10 years time go begging to Brussels does the uk run at - £121 billion and 1.4 trillion debt?
  10. If you can walk away from the debt, can we let you and keep all the assets? Or do you get to keep what you consider your fair share of UK assets but have no obligation to UK debt? Simple questions joe. as already said, we havnt refused debt, never have, share debt, share assets the uk gov has said if scotland votes yes should take on its share of debt what scottish gov/yes is saying if you wont share assets, you can keep debt, fairs fair
  11. scotland share of debt of 100-150 billion, cost on top of current trade if pound share was somehow refused 500 million, uk already runs at - 121 billion, 1.4 trillion debt
  12. LOL, I was thinking that. Its feck all! If Scotland aren't obliged to share debt then we surely aren't obliged to share all assets? UK assets account for more than just the pound. Sounds like a good deal for the UK! FFS please someone put this fool out of his misery. Has has no grasp on this aside from "yippee independence" he puts up facts and figures that a child could ridicule and find holes in.. It's sad to let him carry on (funny mind ) first question you wont answers, uk scotland figures? remember expert? are you also saying the uk debt is not the uks, and scotland couldnt walk
  13. 500 million was trade related, costs on top of current trade, theres a few other £ in there,
  14. Your state pension will be paid in the same way, but simply by the Scottish Government rather than Westminster. As we move forward, independence will offer the opportunity to make improvements based on the needs and priorities of the people of Scotland and based on the policies you vote for in elections to the Scottish Parliament. The Scottish Government has made clear that accrued pension rights will continue to be honoured after independence. So state pensions will continue to be paid as before. And so will public sector pensions – including civil service, armed forces, police
  15. @BH There’d of course be a degree of unwelcome inconvenience for businesses, but hardly an earth-shattering one – most companies now do business globally on some level by trading with the USA or Europe, and banks handle currency exchange within transactions automatically, as anyone who’s ever bought anything on eBay will know. With a fixed exchange rate of 1:1, that process will be essentially invisible. Pro-Union businesspeople who protest about such things have loud voices in the pro-Union media, but only one vote in the referendum like everyone else. Dr Matt Qvortrup of the Centre
  16. you all jump on the yes side info, what facts are we getting from no, anything they aint clear on?
  17. if its a yes vote, we would still be in the eu for another two years, enough time to setup membership while still a member.. its been done in 18months before eu have a team looking into it all now i believe We have no guaranteed right to be in the EU, we could apply to join and get the Euro or buy from them and pay there taxes till we get membership as it stands uk wont be in the eu after the eu in or out vote You need to check your facts joe they would ,but Scotland as a new country would have no direct right too for those two years leading upto it wouldnt, still in uk en
  18. very true, uk gdp is worse than spain its broken, time to fix it
  19. So the logical question is; why not just do that? It'd please both sides of the argument! LOL. I suspect that's not quite the full story eh Joe? The YES argument just makes no sense, you're making out they're doing the stupid thing taking on debt they're not obliged to and fighting for a shared currency............. It begs the follow up question; why are you voting YES? LOL currency union is best option for both sides, even the uk public poll agrees. all am saying its not the end of the word, if the uk gov wants to try play hardball then f**k them
  20. Tomorrow’s speech could win or lose the entire independence debate. If George Osborne really tries to bully the Scottish people with an empty threat – a “declaration of economic war”, as Iain Macwhirter put it on BBC Radio Scotland this morning – he’ll be giving Alex Salmond a free shot at an empty net. If the First Minister muffs it by adopting a policy of denial from now until September it’ll be political suicide, and we simply can’t see him being that inept. If on the other hand he tucks it away calmly and without fuss – at any point in the next couple of months, although the sooner th
  21. if its a yes vote, we would still be in the eu for another two years, enough time to setup membership while still a member.. its been done in 18months before eu have a team looking into it all now i believe And there we have it !! Very Independent ! f*****g alot more than we are now, thats for sure

  23. Say it is a yes vote and wee fat eck has to apply to join the EU ( as said if we get independence we have no automatic right to be in it ) as we will have no defense they will stipulate we get the euro ?. Who has said that ? If they've officially said that (I haven't heard it) its quite a wooly statement. What other choice is there than the Euro, as has been said on here, they'll not be keeping the pound. a pegged sovereign currency has very few drawbacks compared to a currency union , it would give the scottish government considerably more monetary and fiscal policy control, for exa
