    Two lovely looking pups mate :thumbs:

    Have always fancied a merle and i like the breeding, best of luck with it and looking forward to more pics ;)

    Cheers; pics to follow progress but I'll try and avoid 1000's of soppy pup pics. ;)

     

    It's only when you look at a photograph of her that you realise how easily the old 'pup' has managed to avoid ANY form of grooming! :D

    Well I've eventually found a replacement pup for my 'old' pup (13 years old so technically not a pup but she's always been referred to as 'the pup' seeing as how she came in after the old dog). I wouldn't say I was getting desperate but after looking at a variety of animals that were patently misdescribed by the breeders, I was at the point of travelling down to Hancocks next weekend. However, my search bore fruit and I've picked up a blue Merle Collie/Greyhound x Collie/Greyhound/Deerhound/Greyhound (both dam & Sire proven working stock). It's a canny sleeper at the minute but I'm sure the fun and games will start when it settles in. The old bitch has done her best to just avoid it but not in a negative way as they were bedded up next to each other last night.

    I've seen dogs that are well (over) muscled from loads of roadwork even during the season and as a result they can barely turn/strike... just my humble opinion but a working dog will be fit enough from the work it's doing and the off-season should be time for your dog to rest (with a bit of light work getting it ready just before 'your' season starts)!

    Oddly enough I'm going to buy a Hancock pup in the next week because I'm sick and tired of spending 4mths looking at sh1t pups out of dogs that the owners profess to be world-beaters that they can recount numbers of killers over the last seasons etc like it was last night... yet they can't remember from one conversation to the next what 'kin breeding their dogs are (Saluki/GH x Collie/GH one night then Bull/GH x Beddie/Whippet the next)! :wallbash:

    JACKI IF THEYVE GOT RABBITS.LAMPS ,DOGS AND GET STOPPED LAMPING NON PERMISH THEYRE FECKED.

    I hear you mate but the facts as stated by the OP are that they didn't have rabbits and they weren't stopped on non-permission! It's been stated that they were stopped whilst in their car moving 'after' having stopped to shine the lamp around a field... now even if they were stationary outside of the car shining their lamp they could claim a multitude of reasons for doing so (especially as there dogs would have been in the car) but it seems this wasn't the case. Obviously there are two sides to a story and we are hearing one side though it does seem the details are sketchy but based on the info given a brief should take one look and laugh at it and laugh it out of court.

    Being equipped for what? Catching rabbits which he has permission for! :blink:

     

    Unless I've missed something the guy is driving along with two dogs and a couple lamps and various other persons in the car, on return from his permission with no game or rabbits or anything more incriminating in the car; it has to get laughed out of court... unless there is more to this. :whistling:

    You wont be the 1st its happened to, lost permission through that happening in the past

    I've had tw4ts give my name on my permission and they weren't friends for long after that... kept myself to myself for years after that and do so now!

     

     

    Best to have every permission for only you, or you and x. Never anyone without you, unless pre arranged.

    My permission is for only me but several 'locals' wised up and realised that if stopped and they used my name they might get away with it. Came to light when a copper stopped me one night and looked puzzled that I was a completely different guy to the one he stopped last night using the same name on my permission! Turns out the copper rang the farm the previous night and quoted my name and when this was confirmed he never thought to validate the guy using my name.

    On they way home after a rabbiting mission on permission in southport, we were driving through altcar, having a look at the fields with the lamp. we never left the vehicle or entered any fields ;) . As we were leaving altcar we were stopped by lancashire police, who proceeded to confiscate our lamp and summoned us to court on the 3rd of may. Surely we cannot be prosecuted for shining a light from a vehicle on a public road?? :wallbash:

     

    Just realised that you seem to indicate that you weren't even apprehended shining the lamp, you say you were 'leaving' Altcar... what evidence to the Police have for 'poaching'? :blink:

    Just gave the pup a chicken wing thought I'd see how she was after one, she had a little chew then swallowed the f*****g thing whole !!! I'm a little concerned now it was quite a large wing

    Dog's stomach acid is pretty nasty stuff so I wouldn't worry just yet (if a dog barfs on your carpet get the fecker cleaned asap :D ), if it went down OK it'll probably get digested as the bones aren't that tough.
