  1. Cheers for the info Paul, that's useful to know. May have a look when I have a bit more time. Matt
  2. It's not a bad part of the country really, not often over Ledbury way, but if I am I'll make sure to have a look, thanks. To be honest, I wouldn't really know as I'm not really amongst the shooting world yet, but hope to get into it as a small hobby. I know a few local farmers with pheasants and rabbits everywhere this time of year, so would probably just ask their permission to start with. Matt
  3. Cheers for that, I'll have a look on the internet for it. Like I say, we have an old air gun, but should probably get it checked out etc. it's been stood for ten years or more. Thanks for your advice everyone. Just bought an ACME 210 1/2 off the internet so it should be here soon. Thanks, Matt
  4. Thanks for the advice SF.. think I am going to get one of those. Looked on ebay and they are a reasonable price and like you say, easy to get hold of. Makes sense to me . Cheers, Matt
  5. Cheers Eddie. To be honest, I have not been shooting since I was a little nipper with my uncle. We have an air gun in the loft and I was thinking of getting into shooting. I know a few old boys with land that I could ask for permission on and it would keep our little bitch interested, she is full of energy and needs working. I have been looking on ebay at some, if anybody has time, could they tell me which sort of whistle I should be looking at? Not sure where the nearest gun shop is to B97 area, Worcestershire, as a couple of the local ones closed a while ago I believe. Not looking to spend l
  6. Hi all, just wondered if somebody could recommend a place to buy a good whistle. I want to get our springer spaniel bitch trained to the gun and work her as she needs to be worked, anybody with one will understand how mad they are! Just thought I'd ask on here. Thanks, Matt
  7. I have put my name on a trio of silver birchens for the end of the year. Then I will have kos and moderns, wyandottes, orpingtons and brahmas. That should be more than enough to keep me busy. Matt
  8. I have kept quite a few breeds, but the ones that I have now are wyandottes, orps, brahmas and ko shamo. I have had plenty of birds about the place over the last couple of years, but hope to hatch a lot more this year so I can select more harshly. Take a look on here, I put up some pics of some of my birds. Matt
  9. They look happy and healthy.. hope they do well for you! Just wyandottes hatching at the moment here for me, but got orps and brahmas laying now so should have some of them hatched soon too! Matt
  10. That's good news.. they look like alright birds to me, my second lot of chicks are due tomorrow, but unfortunately not ko shamo. Matt
  11. Not on the computer but I can get a couple tomorrow Matt
  12. Hi all, not posted any pictures of my birds on here, so thought I may as well. There's a few different breeds. All comments welcome. Matt
  13. Good luck, who were the eggs from? They are a cracking little breed, you won't go wrong with them. Matt
  14. Not sure what you've heard.. Ian seemed a very genuine guy with an obvious keen interest. PM me if you don't want to post on here. Matt
  15. The top one looks like it may be a poor example of a partridge orpington cockerel. When I say poor example, that's from an exhibition point of view.. they all look perfectly healthy. The white hen does look like a white leghorn, and the black ones are most probably just hybrids, may be black rocks, unless they lay a dark egg, in which case they could be marans. The size of them ie. lf/bantam can be generally seen by the size of egg they lay anyway. Hope this helps, Matt
  16. Ian is a very helpful bloke, and has done very well at the big shows with his birds. I have seen them and I can assure you that they are very good. I would get some pictures, but the dog chewed through the camera and I only have my phone which doesn't really do them justice. Matt
  17. They came from Ian Wileman, definitely not rubbish!! I'll keep an eye out though. Cheers, Matt
  18. Get some pics up mate and I am sure some of us can tell you what you have. If you can't find them anywhere on the internet, they may just be random cross breeds. Matt
  19. I never fancied it when I had a few silkies, couldn't stand the thought of it for some reason. I am sure it would taste the same, but not for me I am afraid. The bones of silkies are also supposed to be green, and as arctic said, are used in medicine. Matt
  20. Hi all, just wondering who else keeps ko shamo. This will be my first year breeding them and I've been lucky enough to get some good birds to start with. I think they're a cracking breed, full of attitude and I really like their build and how they handle. I have only kept softfeather birds up until now, but I am being quickly converted. Matt
  21. Hi Andy,

Yes the trap is still for sale if you're interested, if you wanted to come over let me know when is a good time for you. We're near Redditch, B97.

    Thanks, Matt

  22. This is very true, I have picked one up a couple of times and really taken to it. It seems that you do have an Earlham sax there though, maybe in a Yamaha case? I don't know much about them but a friend pointed this out. Didn't even realise the make on the bell. Matt
  23. Thanks, I play piano but quite fancy starting to learn sax too. I have a friend who I am going to ask this evening and I will get back to you a.s.a.p. Thanks, Matt
  24. Do you know which model this is? Thanks, Matt
  25. Hi all, made this trap for somebody a while ago, they then turned round and said that they didn't want it. It's been sitting in the shed for a while so thought I'd put it on here. Great for catching magpies/corvids, and is legal with the gap for finches to get out beside the lid. It has a compartment for a call bird and two sprung traps for trapping birds as well. Fits into any surrounding area well, doesn't look ugly like metal traps can do. I have used these with great success, they work very well. Pick up from Worcestershire (B97 area) or can post for £10. Looking for £65 for it,
