    Can you tell us a bit about your dogs BIS and what makes them so good ?

    self praise is not my style mate.but everyone knows i dont keep shite.anything i keep is more than good enough for breeding.the topics is about someone i know who just bred a second litter out of 2 piles of shite and sold pups to wee guys just starting up.what is that all about.too many are into breeding just to get a few quid .

    Thats fair enough ,but it,s took 3 pages to get to the point , when you could have been a bit clearer in your first post.

    HAVE A GOOD LOOK AT WHAT YOUR KEEPING,DOES IT JUSTIFY THE TIME YOU PUT INTO IT.TOO MANY PEOPLE ARE KEEPING SECOND OR THIRD RATE RUBBISH .BREEDING OUT OF THINGS THAT ARE USELESS.POLLUTING THE PLACE WITH YET MORE POOR QUALITY SECOND RATERS .AND DONT GIVE ME THE FAMOUS I DONT CARE WHAT THEY DO IM HAPPY WITH THEM ,JUST SAY YOU KEEP POOR QUALITY DOGS.EACH TO THEIR OWN BUT WHY DO PEOPLE ,KEEP BREEDING OUT OF RUBBISH ?

    I still find that Benn - Mcllelland fight hard to watch.....i remember getting caught up in the atmosphere of the fight jumping about like a looney shouting and cheering saying Mcllellend had quit and how our local boy had outgamed the yank...............then i remember getting home and watching a re run of the fight on tv,seeing Mcllellands blinking from the middle rounds and realising your seeing a display of unquestionable gameness and lives being destroyed.

    There have been a number of fundraising events for Mclelland only a few years ago there was a show at the Grosvenor House with proceeds going to the family.......it was the type of fight that was great to watch but not so great to be involved in.

    I was also shouting at the tv screen that he,d quit , and called him a few names I still feel ashamed of myself .

    I,v run and bred whippets for thirty years I own other x,s as well but I,ll always have a whippet in my team . I,v had good ones and not so good ones but never one that was good for nothing.The best I,v ever had made me smile every day she regularly caught 3 and 4 on the fens and silenced a few saluki x lads.Dont get me wrong I own saluki x dogs from good lines but this Whippet was a top dog and I will probably never see another like her every one that saw her run and there were many complimented on the way she ran .Her best day was 6 out of 7 and in that same year she caught just under 300 single handed and over 200 the next year it was a sad day when she died .I have 4 pups from her lines here at the moment and I,m keeping them all just incase there is one made of the same stuff ,I live in hope but I dont think any one would be lucky enough to have 2 like her in one liftime,I,ll post on their progress in 10 months time if any turn out like her .Any one that slags Whippets has not worked one to its strengths they are very game and are able to perform well above themselves.

    A recent survey conducted by M.A.M.M. concluded that the average whippet owner has a greater appreciation of the different types of hunting , ferreting ,long netting , day time mooching etc that thier dog is capable of ,they ( the owners ) are less prone to bragging and machismo than your average lurcher owner .

    I think if you dig deep enough the whole thing will have been orchestrated by drug dealing :community leaders: who are trying to create a no go zone for police ,Tomorrow we will have the usual crap spouted on tv about disenfranchised black youth , a government minister will visit the area with a pack of cameras , and promise investment and funding and nobody will have the bollocks to say it.s just a bunch of drug dealing , half civilised immigrants doing what they do.

    30 odd years ago I bought a ready made dog , the fella ( who must have seen me coming ) told me it was a killing machine , kept his family fed etc , and it certainly looked the part , muscels on muscels and an intense look about it that just screamed killer . Gathered all my mates together to witness what my new dog could do , even took a couple of bookings for matings just on the strength of my boasting ,big night came ,slipped dog on bunny dog had no problem getting to the rabbit , held it with one paw got comfortable and then humped a screaming rabbit for 5 mins . two of the lads with me actually cried laughing.

    The 45 min walk home with 4 lads abusing and laughing at you , dragging a dog whos big red knob was still nearly touching the floor ,seemed like the longest 45 min of my life.
