  1. Yes it is legal so long as the following is complied with to the best of my knowledge,

The shot takes place more than 50ft away from the centre of any highway or if it is closer than 50ft must not endanger or interfere with anyone using that highway,

The shot must land on the same ground that you have permission to shoot on.

Are there other properties nearby? Are the neighbours approachable?

I personally would resort to traps in that situation if there are houses and things nearby.

Cheers mate. There are no visible houses nearby from the garden and all shots would be towards the ground or place with a suitable backstop, will have a think about.

    Thanks again

  2. Hey lads, i have a permission which is basically a persons garden but is surrounded by fields and very thick with trees and have a big problem with rabbits but also alot of squirrels, now after being there a few times with the air rifles we are able to pop off 2 or 3 but then they dart to the trees and disappear all day.

But they do run across the ground very often and don't stop therefore making it extremely difficult for a shot with an air rifle, and i saw a video the other day where they were hunting squirrels with a shotgun and this had never occurred to me.

so my question is, is it legal to use a shotgun in a place like this ( it would be silenced - maybe a hushpower ) i do not own a hushpower, i own a lanber 12g O/U, but if i were to purchase one which would be better all round for rabbits, squirrels, pigeons at close quarters where it is safe to do so .410, 20g or 12g?

  4. .22 at 40ft-lbs I would stll say a Rapid, simply because of the ease of fixing it and the reliability of them - very well built, simple system that has now been proven over about 25 years. There are plenty like this being used in South Africa. Simple, rugged, accurate and good shot count (around 35 at that power from a 400cc)

i would also get a rapid but i cant deal with long guns and a rapid in FAC would do my head thats why i chose the edgun because they are SO easy to take apart and put together etc even the manufacturer has put his own videos up of how to dis/re assemble it :) and the lads over on talon-airgun are loving them

i do love the rapids though

  5. congratulation that is a nice gun .whats the price in uk .Will it be in its original power.please also tell where to order for this gun in uk.

1600 Euros Delivered to UK - Contact him here http://www.edgun.ru/en/index.php on the feedback section, the next ones are available march/april i think.

They come shipped to UK set below 12FPE and if you want to put it on FAC then you just turn it up to your desired FPE and pop it on your licence.

  6. Stick with between 850-920FPS for best accuracy, the most popular pcp air rifles at this sort of power are:

    Air Arms S400/S410 S500/S510 XTRA

    BSA R10/SuperTen

Theoben Rapid MK1/MK2/S-TYPE/MFR/TTR - VERY POPULAR CHOICE

    Weiharauch HW100

    Daystate AirWolf/AirRanger/MK4

Edgun Matador - FAIRLY NEW TO THE MARKET BUT VERY POPULAR IN USA

  7. Nice one pal, and heres me thinking you actually get such a thing, want a laugh i am a plumbing heating engineer and i was thinking it looked rather like a waste fitting.

I've all the different sizes in my bloody garage.

    Cheers Chris. :icon_redface: :icon_redface: :icon_redface:

thats exactly what it is but dependent on your scope it might need a different fitting

also make the camera lens as close to the eyepiece as possible

  8. as above

it is quite hard to explain so i will make it as simple as possible mate

take your scope off and go to b&q

find a piece of plastic plumbing pipe, connector that will fit over your scope - not too tight just enough

use some electrical tape round your scope to eyepiece to thicken it for the pipe connector and to protector your scope from it scratching

measure the diameter of the other end of the pipe (not the scope end) and then go onto ebay and buy a 30mm step up filter that is close to the diameter - for example if the diameter is 50mm buy a 30mm - 47mm step up adapter and file the pipe down to fit

fit the step up filter to the pipe using epoxy resin/glue - b&q

your camera will then simply screw onto to 30mm thread and then you attach it to your scope.

the problem with the camera you are looking at you will need to have it upside down and then use editing software to flip it - view si's posts.

if you are still unsure PM me and i will give you a call explaining

if you are using an mtc scope then it is a different process.

  9. I have owned an s410 and now own a hw100kt, IMHO the only thing that is different about the hw100 is that its reg'd and i dont have to mess about with power curves (which wasnt bad as all you have to do is fill to 170 and shoot down to 100 and your sorted)

I know that the hw100 is classed as better built, smoother cocking, best mag system - which is all true but the s410 does it all faultlessly also.

Go for it pal and when you have some spare dosh get it reg'd if you fancy more shots and no power curve.
