  5. There isnt many free stretches of the Wensum. Where abouts are you? Your best bet is to get a copy of John Wilsons book,Where to fish in Norfolk and Suffolk. It gives good detail of all the fishable water of all rivers in Norfolk and a lot of the stillwaters too. The rivers still have an enforced closed season. Fishing from June 16th - March 15th inclusive. As for licence you need an EA licence to fish any fresh water in the UK. David
  6. Yes I thought so too. I had two people say they wanted it but neither payed for it. Think its first edition it says 1985 and nowhere doses it say reprint

  11. Im thinking that I may have a go at removing the lacquer staining a bit darker and oiling the stock on my CZ .243. Has anyone done this before and was it a simple process?I dont want to end up spoiling a good stock just to make it look a bit nicer. What products do I need? I have seen in the Bushwear catalogue a complete gunstock kit at £55,should I get this or is there a cheaper way of doing it? Has anyone got any pics of stocks that they have restored? thanks David
  12. Took some pictures earlier will put them up n a bit. I wasnt going to sell the bar with the saw as will probably need it in the future. Its a 48" bar which it runs comfatably, so with a 20" or the 36" it will handle very well. If someone made me a good offer for the bar I may let it go. I also have an Alaskan small log mill which I advertised on here for swap for a mk 3 ferret finder but would sell for £100 if its of any interest to you.
  13. Im going to be putting my old stihl 076 110cc chainsaw on ebay in the next few days but thought id put it on here first to see if anyone is interested in it first. Im looking for £375 and it will need picking up in Norfolk or courier if organised by you. Havnt done any pics yet but will do tommorrow,pm me if interested and i'll put them up Cheers David
  14. have you tried this time of year son ........you have a lot of young birds that are a bit green so its like cheating.....but give it a go you may be suprised..... ps i shot 4 days a week ...so not on a diffrent a planet just dune a bit Yes I have shot at that time of year,.....son. I have shot a lot of pigeons on laid corn over the years, but to say that by sticking out a magnet you should shoot 200/300 is a bit of an exageration isnt it. Yes it can all come right and you may have a big bag like that, but what about all the times that you get just 20/30? Or do you only get big bags,i
  15. your magnet and flaper up on the laid patch you should have a good bag 200/300+ birds You make it sound easy, just put a magnet on a bit of laid corn and you should shoot 200/300. You must shoot on a different planet to me and most people who regulary decoy pigeons. I have always found that fresh spring drillings are the best bet for a bag,but these days the drills dont leave much corn laid on top so you have to be quick to get after them and get at them before too much has been drilled or they have too much to go at. At the moment you may see big flocks on the rape but dont be f
  16. Normaly shout,oi stop you f####r. Normally stops them for a second, long enough to a shot into them. You have to be quick though
  17. If you want a mega accurate shooting tool for rabbits and hares you cannot go wrong with a CZ 452. They are mega accurate (1/2" groups @ 50YDS)are dirt cheap and will do a great job for you. If you want to shoot foxes and deer later on get a .243 and the Tikka T3 is an absolutely awesome tool. Mine groups 1" groups at 200yds with homeloads. Don't believe all the hype about the .17hmr, I had one and sold it after using it for 3 months. The slightest bit of wind and its all over the shop. I use the .243 tikka now for long range rabbits till I get the .20cal. WTF,.243 for long
  18. I just googled diagrain one shot and didnt find anything. Where would I find it? Has anyone used strikeback insect killing fogger? They are about 4 quid each, are they any good?

  20. Does anybody know of a product that I can get to fumigate flys in an attic? Or any other ideas? Its a serious problem and needs more than emptying a can or 2 of spray. Cheers David
  21. Im going to make a ladder trap this winter to catch some of the thousands of rooks which are on the estate that Im on. Has anybody had any experiance of usng them? What would be the ideal place to site the trap? Under/close to the rookery or on fields where they feed? Would I be best to site it under the flightline or will they fly off of the flightline to have a look. Do they work year round or should I only run it in the spring when I set the Larsens going? As for baiting it and getting them feeding confidently what should I feed them with,as I cant get a good supply of eggs now we dont have
