the difference between a fox set and a badger?
wink hound replied to derbylad's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
the fact someone asks the question, although stupid (Asin they really should be out with somoen who knows the crack first), is only secoundary to some of the idiot replies from people who have clearly done feck all in the way of terrierwork. my advice would be to find some boys that are doing abit, lend a hand and learn from them, you will learn very little throught text or type. if you cant manage that, do your home work, go out on your own, sit above some places all summer just watching and learning, teach yourself the signs, you never know you may find something others have missed -
jokes Mr Nips, i can see why Flapper got his name, dont rise to it

jezzzz, it was reply to your comment, and a stupid one at that. but yes ive made my point and from the pm's ive recived some sensible people have taken note. i hope you and your mate grow rich and fat on proceeds of other hard work and flapper will do his upmost to keep the peddlers away, then half the battle will be won.

oh, that makes it ok then, f**k the quality, lets just make some money..... their all twats too then.

^^school boy tatics, bullying ^^ why on earth would anyone feel the need to do that against a bloke with such good morols, business sense and that can be so constructive in a debate. your right all us silver spooned hunting folk know nothing, we have the odd £2000 kicking around to start up a business that befints from the demise of the working dog without getting a return... dream on idiot, you know nothing of me or how much or little money i have, the money isnt the issue!!! i wander how many "nuttell" "stevens" "browny" breed dogs will be forsale on your site!!??!!
-
reasoned argument think most would not listen to your reasoned argument when you start by calling them twat. read the thread...... it was continued, he ask me to back it up and i did with an acount of why i think hes a twat. its a term i use for messers and idiots that promonte the breeding of working dogs for profit.... turns out you missed that bit

there are lost of ways to make money and making money from so called working dogs is and evil or all evils in my eyes..... people wander why there is so much shit about and mess about thinking there great hunters that do so much, then pass litters off as "great workers". the days of testing dogs are going and the days of making money are apon us... what sad sad days!
-
i already said that flapper, i have alos said excess can be given away to people with teh same standards as you. and no flapper the flapper, i have never bought a dog from an advert.
-
I disagree... I only hunt with one lad,I had a litter and kept one for me and my friend the rest where surplus so i advetised them to sell them.. And they are quality pups all the lads who bought them where happy and have kept in touch. not everyone has a large network of friends and geniun litters will be sold.. I think your satement is laughable my bitch was advetised i bought her and shes a decent bitch put more than plenty of game to bed.. I Advertised my litter and will give anyone there money back if they dont make the grade... A dogs a tool of the trade there must be a market pla

when the £££ get involved goal posts are moved. to reverse your question, why would people feel they need to profit from a working animal? brake even maybe, but profit, why? it isnt for the good of the dog, the line, the working ability, no its for the good of their wallet, and in most situations if you can keep money out of the equation, its better for everybody.
-
i think your wrong, ive put a faired and resoned argument across, ie what forums are for. i never asked for anyone to agree or disagree, just beause people back me up beaucse they are like minded and know from personal experince that calling me a puppy peddler culdnt be further from the truth, dosent make any of us bullies!! if they didnt agree they would put anything!

J.R.T.C.G.B. SHOW ON SUNDAY 26TH APRIL
wink hound replied to k9delboy's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
wilf moo and tj have all been inside one another at somepoint, is that the same as being "one" -
everyoen has to start somewhere, and in this present climate i dont think theres many people that would put in £2000 to a sellers based website without expecting a return of somesort, or indeed many that would be fooled into beliveing otherwise.
-
stabba, i dint say everyones out to make money, some folk sell pups to cover cost thats fine, i choose not to, but that isnt the issue. the issue is, where a demand for pups is created, then someone will fill it, so if you can cut out the ££££ equation from working dog it would solve this problem, it would also stop 90% of dogs thefts and 90% of all the good established lines going to pot, how can you not see this? flapper, your just foolish, ive clearly hit a never by point out that your out to make money from your scheme. wher you get the back peddeling thing from i dont know, must
-
quite simply, you wouldnt of put £2000 in unless you though you were going to make money on it, so in the end your making money on working dogs, something i do not condone and nor do most people with the true working abilites of a dog at heart. and yes ive breed litter out of dogs, kept one back, sometimes kept the lot back, and the other ive given away to mates and people with a good ethic in terms of breeding, this is how you get your "new" blood back...... its not rocket science.
-
even after all this ther is no way you can say they are working dogs from working parents. i suppose it all depends on what standards you require and your prefrence for how much the parents of your pup are tested....... i think most that know the game will not be buying through your site, from free ads or any other web based site. but thats up to them, i just think its a sad day when people have to peddle out pups via the internet/free ads beacuse they dont have people wanting them. ocasionally in large litters they may be a need, but really what are people breeding for.
-
no but nobody in their right mind would buy a "working dog" from a free ads. but if i could stop poeple advertising "working"dogs in them, then yes i would. as i said all your doing is creating another media for messers and morons to aquire dogs, and as ive stated litters of quality do not need advertising or selling, so therfore you can only be promoting sub standard litters, im sure there will be some workers amongst them but most will be breed by messers to make a quick buck or from standards that are taking the working dog on an ever long road to shit.
-
correct i dint know you, i only take my opinion on what you put forward and i would would call anyone a twat who thinks that a creating a network for selling working dogs via the Internet is a good thing, you leave yourself wide open to abuse and peddler take over, you have no way of knowing if the dogs are indeed working or if the litters are of quality........ the standards that people are breeding dogs for is pitifulland the addition of Internet based "working dog" sites only compounds this by allowing quicker access to messers and morons, and in return where there is demand you will find me
-
ive yet to see a decent litter of dogs that need "advertising" through any web based media...... simply it will trun into a peddlers place to sell to newbies and idiots on the pretence that they are not pets but "working" dogs.

some of them folk look like they work there dogs hard -
just do what the average person with working terriers does, drag her round the summer shows and pretends shes the don'. solves a whole world of problems...........

7? could be 7, could be 15, could 0. its all well and good being excited but guessing litter sizes is never a good move.
