Had a go at rats the other day,there was plenty to keep the dogs busy.We had 711 rats,8 rabbits and a stoat. There was 7 dogs and 2 pups present.Few pics.

Just a farm,plenty cattle in for the winter so lots of feed lying about.

Yes they loved it,that was there first two days ratting.We wanted to get there heads straight on foxes first before allowing them onto rats. With that many rats we needed all the mouths we could get.Cheers.

Been to the same farm the last 2 saturdays for rats,we got 367 the first visit and 182 today,we must be doing some good as the numbers are falling.

Out again today on a local sheep farm,got a four foot dig to the russell with a cranky dog fox. We then pushed a tight windblown wood through,the hounds and terriers rattled a fox about for a bit before it broke cover and was shot then retrieved by my mates lurchers. Another cracking weekends sport with all the dogs seeing a bit of graft,thanks to the snow.

Was out Saturday on a new bit organised by a member off here,too many foxes going about for the farmers liking.We pushed a pair from the first piece of cover,the dog fox was shot and the vixen took the hounds on a merry run,after gathering them up we went onto the next bit,we shifted one from there and one of the guns got a misfire and it made it through and again took the hounds with it,scenting conditions must've been perfect as we eventually found them about 6 miles away in a huge forestry block. We've had snow for over a fortnight now here and been making the most of it. Two from cover with hounds,one on the lamp and seven from the ground,here's a few pics. One bolted,two dug. Getting there. Job done. Young hopefuls at 4 mths having a rag.
