    Totally agree.......as Ronaldo proved,his pace and power was perfectly suited to our premier league whereas Messi ( brilliant as he is ) would struggle in our league in my opinion.....should the worlds best be the worlds best in any league and any team i think our league would struggle with messi.

    I don’t know of any lucher owners who would be able to pick the best out of a hundred let alone one in a thousand. As to track proven, well one must consider it in context, a greyhound that is bred from the best of the best that completes a racing career during which it must be able to withstand pressure through it joints that would snap the wrists of a lesser athlete.     Do genuine lurchermen need scientific data? Ive heard afew over the years who could dazzle with science and genetics, they all had onething incommon, piss poor hunters.

    would it work better than a lurcher from proven stock? would it be able to course in the day and lamp the same night? Greyhounds can work, but lurchers do it better.

    Not all flapping dogs are second rate fella ...... spot on that .most if not all greyhounds these days will have derby winners etc in their pedigrees and every one of em will have enough speed to bend hare agood lurcher brings more to the table than that, i have seen many a dog bend em.

    very true I also have a we bedfy whippet that's been line bred for well over 30 years the guy also works terriers and the person the pup I have also a terrier man worker to worker, its the best u can do atb.

    Some lurcher owners are very ruthless sandy, like the best terriermen/coursing lads, the difference is they are proven in the field, not track.

    If you only breed lurcher to lurcher after awhile they will slow down as the base breeds level out if you know what I mean so you need to add long dog blood to keep the speed up not the best wording but the only way I could think to word it are u talking from experience? Yes mate I had a 3rd generation Wheaton greyhound bull greyhound to slow for almost any game my nephew had the brother he was bait faster but still not enough speed also had a 4th generation bull greyhound whippet I could have run faster pure bulls an wheatons aint that fast mate, could this explain?

    so after a period of time our lurchers turn into collies, bedlingtons, deerhounds ect? No they don't turn into anything ... They will still be lurchers but over time will have less and less running dog in them ....... wheres it gone?

    non, that my pointYou have to use pure running dog blood at some stage ... You can't keep using lurcher to lurcher without the infusion of pure running dog blood so if the lad can get a decent retired bitch that ran injury free with good times then he is on the right road ......Agree with you there mate you need to add speed sometimeswhat about a fast proven lurcher?
