Sorry about the cr@p quality, hope these of some help:
-
Thanks Clare.

Hi all,
Although I've owned dogs all my life (mainly Mastiffs) I've never owned or trained a gun dog.
Is anybody on here familiar with Gordons?
If so are they suitable for a novice trainer?
Thanks,
Mick.

In order to save cash all Harriers have now left Ark Royal for the last time.
Harriers and the Ark Royal will now be scrapped.
Britain will have no Aircraft Carrier based fast jets until at least 2012.
Meanwhile our troops are committed to theatres of war where they will be harried by extremists born, raised and subsidised by this country.
Please tell me it's not just me that thinks this is WRONG! :realmad: :realmad:

I don't understand why people don't use iTunes.
It's not expensive and (some of the cash) gets re-invested in the music industry.
Keep stealing the music and only sh!te that makes money on tv will be available in 5 years.
Wall to wall Simon Cowell?
Up to you.

no...just wipe the oil off the metal work.....no need to take apart
Thank feck for that!
Cheers Sean, appreciate the speedy answer
-
Cheers for that Sean,
Next dumb question should I remove the stock and fore end before applying oil?
Sounds a lot of work if I need to remove everything

Hi all,
Proper newbie's question but what is the correct way to care for a good grade (oiled) shotgun stock?
Haven't a clue.
-
absolutely no reason, I use a bereta 28" silver pigeon on clays, they're lighter, point faster, and don't make you as tired so fast... if you shoot 70 or 100 birds, 28gm loads, you know you've shot, but it dosen't hurt.
cheers for that,
Will give it a go next Sunday.

Funny thing happened with the wardrobe, I cut the back out, drilled 3 holes, went to drill the 4th and hit some metal trunking, turned out there was a plug socket behind there, slap bang where the safe was going to fit, So now ive got 3 holes and a cut out in the back of my wardrobe
I'd stick the safe in the wardrobe if you can mate.
Good luck with the interview.

Sorry Watchman,

Hi guys, Applying for my SGC, the FEO has made his appointment.
Just a bit of advice really?? Do you think this will get rejected? I originally wanted it in the loft but got told (Not by my FEO, that it would be a bad idea as id be less likely to put it away after a shoot)
Anyway, ive drawn (I use the term loosly) on paint to try to aid in explanation, My room (bedroom) in a bungalow has an external door, its never used my beds up against it, not been used in 2 years, it also has 2 external windows, Ive fitted the safe to a Brick/Block wall, under my desk, its pretty well hidden as no-one ever comes in this room bar me and my gf anyway, (someone mentioned a coat of some kind to stop people looking through the windows??) but that window that would look at it the blind is never open on anyway...
heres the pics so you get more of an idea, im crap at paint, even worse at wording
Im not immediatly wanting to get a gun, my instructor reccomended getting a SGC so I can go down, buy cartridges and shoot a rental so its cheaper than keep paying lessons.
I'm sure an expert will be along shortly...
In the mean time the FEO will want to know that your security arrangements are suitable for the risk present in your area, if you live in a low crime area he / she will probably be ok with it.
Just a thought but could't you cut out the back of the wardrobe and hide the safe that way?
Good luck,
Mick.

and if there is,is it just a matter of time until they get that way?
posting because although i'd never ever support any animal charity i heard the dogs trust was a decent one,but on a post earlier apparently they too condemned that john lewis advert for having a dog outside.
Aye, the RSPCA are sound, think we should all subscribe for their humane way of disposing of healthy dogs...
Don't forget the power of Google and the Guests it brings to this site.
If you are a guest and think the RSPCA are a worthy cause I suggest you do a little research, murdering b*****ds.

The main difference between a game gun and a sporter is the safety. A game gun will have a safety that automatically sets on breaking the gun, whereas a sporter, specifically set up for clays, will not set the safety. This is on the grounds that a sporter will only be loaded when you are at the stand with the gun pointed in a safe direction, whereas a game gun you may well carry the gun a fair distance loaded before the chance of a shot presents itself.
If you shoot with the game gun all the time, you're less likely to have that "pullllllllll trigger, oh b####r the safety's on and the birds gone" moments from forgetting to let the safety off.
Cheers Matt,
Have had the auto safety disabled for that very reason...
-
Cheers Gents.
Appreciated

Superb write up,
Thanks for sharing John.

Id go for the bigger of the two, although in your mind, you think you'll only every have one gun, that tends to change once guns start coming along, my FAC cabinet only just holds the 12,410 and my rimmy, sometimes wish I had bigger
plus with the breakdown cabinet, you may be prone to leave putting the gun away if you need to dismantle it, when your off out the next day?
^^^^^^^^
As above mate,
Get the biggest you can afford, you WILL fill it.
ATB,
Mick

A teacher tells her class to ask their parents for a story ending with a moral as part of their homework.
The next the members of the class each gave their stories, and then they came to Johnny in the corner.
"What's your story, Johnny?", said the teacher.
Johnny stood up and began to tell the story of his uncle Pete.
"Uncle Pete was a RAF pilot during the first gulf war. He got shot down over Iraq, and all he had with him was a bottle of whiskey, his pistol and his survival knife. He ejected the plane & drank the whiskey on the way down to save it from falling into enemy hands."
"He landed right in the middle of an enemy patrol, and killed five soldiers straight away with the broken whiskey bottle. Then he killed 20 more with his pistol until he ran out of ammo. He then pulled his knife out and killed 20 more with that until the blade snapped. There were 10 left, and he killed them all with his bare hands!"
"Ah," said the teacher, "and is the moral of the story to do with never giving up no matter how the odds are stacked against you?"
"No Miss," said Johnny, "My dad said the moral of the story is:
Always stay away from uncle Pete when he's on the whiskey..."
