  1. Gonna make some fox grids for the shoot, does anybody have one handy to measure the spacing between bars? I’ve just taken on this shoot and the old ones are just rebar in the ground seeming pretty random! Also has anybody used raised pop holes? I quite like the idea but I’m still not convinced lol ?

    cheers ant

  2. Just got a second hand Polaris ranger after my quad got nicked ? lesson learned, Extra security and booby traps in place! But I’d also like to insure it, for piece of mind. Who do you boys use? I spoke to bike sure or something and they came back with  £802! Told them no thanks and 2 minutes later they came back with £477? But it still seems to much to me! And if it gets nicked within a 500mtr radius of the farm, but not from the building I said it will be stored in, then the insurance won’t pay out! I said it will be locked in there at night when not in use, but I can’t chain it to the ground every time I come in for a shxt or something to eat!
    who do you lads recommend?
    cheers ant

And I’m still waiting for my timber to dry lol so green oak benches are about all I can make at the moment lol gonna build a solar kiln this year hopefully ?

It's just water has nothing to do with moisture or flavour simply bumps the weight up, if you look at an estimated billion chickens consumed world wide yearly, we are paying for a massive weight in water, pork is also water injected, it's why you get a pan full of water when you try to fry super market bacon ?

I’ve culled a fair few chickens now, and always thought that although they looked ready for the pot, once dressed they always looked a little “flat breasted” and thought i was doing them to early, now I no why they didn’t look as plump as the Tesco ones lol ? I’ll stick to home grown!

We're nearly at prohibition here in Scotland at present, minimum price per unit, no bogof offers on alcohol, and they're on about doubling the minimum price per unit! Won't be long before the bootleggers are in full swing, I hope. They'll probably be putting a tax on home brewing before long ffs.

I am in Scotland! That’s what inspired me to do it lol ?

I thought it was only illegal when you sold it (tax evasion) it is illegal in the UK without a license though! I brew wine to 30-32% with super yeast (cracking stuff).

I wonder how many people have been persecuted Errr prosecuted for distilling for thier own consumption? There are plenty of stills for sale on websites, even my brew shop has a variety, they're intended use being water and oil distillation hmm ?

I was thinking that before? Did we ever have prohibition in the UK or was it just America? And if anybody asks I’m making bio fuel for my lawn mower ? I can make 2500ltrs of that per year apparently. Might need a licence for that to tho lol I should look in to it really ?
