  1. Oh you...don't be like that ,pumpkin. Here. Some clowns. Everybody loves clowns.
  2. Because as of yet, they refuse to give up their coats voluntarily . They stalwartly refuse to surrender. They can be a nuisance but, again, that typically occurs when their habitat has too many 'coons to support the numbers.
  3. I agree , Unfit... cruelty has no place here. That's why I'm posting these .
  4. Trapping irresponsibly creates more problems than it's worth ,LG. Keep in mind , most folks who do this wanna make a little money ,too. Certainly not alot, but hopefully enough to off-set costs. Setting in bad areas with livestock and pet traffic is going to be counter-productive, and not abiding by the law can get real expensive real quick. So their is no point . 'Sides, trapping productively requires alot of woodsmanship. Think about it...your goal is to cause an animal to step on an object as big around as a silver dollar. Out of acres and acres, you need it to place it's foot in a 1.5 to 2

  6. LG, I prefer to go out and have fun with it ... mainly my Staghounds or by calling. I love to hunt.... but I also hold an Animal Damage Control license . For my State their are only 10 gov. employed Nuisance Wildlife Officers . So when they get called , they contract out help. And when they do , we try to utilize all the mentioned resources. From helicopters to dogs. That's not for fun(exactly)...it's work as alot goes into it. As far as uses aside from pelts...not really . I am not about to eat one. I'll butcher a bobcat, though. Almost indistinguishable from pork. Coyote and wolf h
  7. Whin, I haven't set for bobcats ,yet . Last year the most I got was $150 and that was for a large ,well-spotted male. Far cry from the $500 - $1000 we were hearing rumors of prior to October last year. Still , though...I'll be happy to average that for the year . Muskrats, I have a feeling, are going to be the winner this year. I sent off 3,000 last year to NAFA at 5.00 a piece average. LOL @ ZAP.
  8. 1. I run two checks a day ... before and after work . The longest one would be in a trap would be 12 hours. Everybody keeps talking about the freaking sun. Trapping season is in the fall and winter. They sun themselves this time of year. Sheesh... 2. They are either shot or relocated... relocated my arse wat with half a leg I think you will find that these are humane leg hold traps, with a rubber buffer on the inside of the jaws. I do not use the rubber... 'soft catch' ...what happens when the temp falls below freezing is it becomes hard and brittle and shatters leavin

You don't know so you have an uninformed opinion.
  10. Dispatch vs. relocation comes down to several factors... 1. Do I have a place to relocate ? Fur condition and value ? On and on ...Even if prices are down ,I often still dispatch ....coyote fur lined garments make great Christmas gifts. 2. I trap and have access to over 30,000 acres total. You need to keep in mind that once an area has a dense population of coyotes and they are presenting alotta problems for ranchers than a multi-dimensional approach is used. That includes aerial shooting, the use of denning dogs, M-44's (it's a K-9 specific cyanide trap), sight hounds, leg hold tra
  11. As of late, we've been relocating them to places with high concentrations of feral pigs....coyotes will eat a whole litter of piglets in a sitting. The most damage I see is when I get a toe catch.... sometimes results in a three toed coyote. That's easily remedied by using the correct size. I'll get some pics of my favs .

  13. i can see what they have to be put through when your in their neck of the woods ,PAIN ,SUFFERING ,HUNGER ,BURNT BY THE SUN ,DEHYDRATED ,STRESS. MENTAL STRESS .FEAR, AND IT GOES ON FOR HOURS ON END what a lovely way to end your last hours on this planet , Burnt by the sun ? Pssst..you trap in the fall and winter, when the furs are prime . If you look closely, Mr. Observant, you'll notice the frost on the ground. So there ya go , Coyote Whisperer.
  14. What's cruel about it ? The fact that they have to hang out for awhile ? And no shit,it's not hunting ...it's a management practice. Anyone says it's cruel has no experience with it. It's OK to be uninformed. management practice is no excuse for cruelty, and hang out for a while does not make it sound any better,i cant remember the excuse or the words used by your army for the torture and pain they inflicted on inocent iraqies ,but they was found out in the end ,i hope you are shown for what you are as well one day . Ahhh...so we have to go there with it. Tsk,tsk...
  15. One more time...you use emotion in place of logic. That means you're irrational . You say it's cruel because while restrained they are'nt being treated like a pet...lord. Excatly what kind of Disney World is it that you think coyotes exist in ?

  17. BTW...if you think legholds are cruel ; probably be best for you to not ever come here and participate in a large scale depredation operation. Your therapy bills would be outrageous.
  18. every one got a view on things the snare is set to kill the rabbit ,ie,choke it to death ,let me ask you this ,HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF I SET A TRAP LIKE THE ONE IN THE PIC ,AND IT CAUGHT YOUR DOG BY THE LEG BY ACCIDENT AND YOU FOUND IT HOURS LATER , these kind of traps are outlawd in this country for a reason ,they was used on humans ,and they do a lot of damage if what ever was caught in them managed to escape ,ie, by the animal chewing its leg of . Not really a question I can answer as I wouldn't be too keen to be coursed, ferreted or shot with a .243 but they are our pastimes, so how
