money wouldn't be an issue for me --- the breeding would and if I wanted it and if it was right for then I`d pay the money me.....I knew a man who worked his terriers hard week in week out he bred maybe one litter every 4 years or so from the right stuff out of the litter he`d kept 2 for himself all his dogs grafted and where bred tight and they won in the show ring if they didn't work money back offer ----------how much would you pay for these pups ;) stick a few replys up and I`ll tell you what digging lads where offering ...

1999 £500 === 2007 a grand ,,,,,,,,,,,, the mans out the game now but you knew they were the right gear and he never took near that money ----------------- if a mans put a life time of work into them and they do the job I`d say 500--1,000 would be the money I`d pay ................... paying good cash is no guarantee you pay your money and take your chances my granddad used to say research the man before his stock ;) ,,,

your grandad was spot on

he knew his stuff --the sort of man you could listen to for hours

    500 Sheets for the pup......

What price would you pay for a working dog? Stock broken, attended basic training classes, has done those agility courses, follows fox trail over ground, has stayed on over twenty digs over two years, now four years old and his house trained.........

he wouldnt be for sale

That's not the question.........It's a hypothetical question......Question is...... how much would you pay? Would 500 be a fair price? 1000?

if it worked to the styel i like and there was a decent trial 1000 pounds wouldnt be to much i.m.o

Agree with you, and if i came across one for 500 and i had the grade.....i'd have it in a shot....so why does everyone go ape if someone asks 150-200 for a pup? And i would pay 300 for a real well bred dog i.e. direct parkes lines or breay lines etc you can never get history back....it would be great to have a real bred dog in the yard....just to look at......like an ornament

if you want it just to look at why would it need to be from a good line :hmm:

If you go out a saturday night you wear your good hillfinger jeans, when you go to work on a monday you wear your wrangler jeans.......its like fancying a movie actress....they ain't the same in real life...so why spoil the dream.....just sit an look at it and say that's a breay bred dog........ :D

or wear your hillfingers to work and see if they realy are built to last ;)

There never as good as you think so i wouldn't bother, like a having a soft top only take them for a spin now and again

is that just breay dogs ??

I have in my yard a 1stx pattxstaff, very good diging dog coming up to 5 year old. This dog is smaller than any of the black terriers I keep and has a lot of serious diging over him in the last 3 half seasons. Can be dug pretty often even though he is mute and finds and stays in any type of earth big or small. We actually dug to his dam on a few occasions while short on diging dogs.A lot of lads knock the bullx's saying they are to big and to hard for earth work but with proper care when choosing the actual dog and bitch for the mating they are actually a handy little diging dog.Anyone that has seen this dog work cannot fault him and anyone that knows me will know I wont tolerate a bad terrier.

sounds a handy dog fat man have you any pics
