    Lots of dogs been stolen all over Cork at the moment. My buddies Jack Russells were stolen from his yard in broad day light. All the terrier men are busy securing their kennels too. Who ever is stealing them is supposedly sending them up North before the kennel door is closed. Best of luck. Will keep the eyes open where I'm living - West of Cork City.

    I hope this is the right forum for this topic. My old lamp is after packing up which I had for several years. I'm now looking to buy a new one plus the battery pack. What make and model do people use these days. Any recommendations welcome.

    My two cents: Had this problem with my whippet / greyhound cross. Drove me insane. While out during the day if she came across a rabbit she would chase after it. Once it reached the cover she would run on looking for the next one till she ran around the whole field. She would then just about come back exhausted. Same thing was happening while lamping which was worse because I often couldn't find her even with the lamp. Remembered searching the fields for her one freezing night.     Dont know what happened with the last reply. When I take her for a walk/run every evening I make sure I go to fields where there is no rabbits about and she is grand and relaxed. Stays close and listens. But when I go out on a Friday night lamping or Sunday morning ferreting and there's rabbits about shes goes into overdrive and does not listen. I dont go back to the same land week after week so the dog is unacustomed to the land. Even though I turn up early and give her a walk/run to try and burn some of her energy before we start.     Hi Lads, Can anyone offer me advice. For many years I have worked jack russells with ferrets. This year I decided to buy a whippet/greyhound cross pup when my my old jack russell bitch died. The pup is very steady to the ferrets and won't go near them. She is now 9 months and I have brought her out lamping and ferreting. However my problem with her is that if she sees a rabbit she will chase it and when it goes to ground she will continue to run on. No matter whether its ferreting or lamping.
