I have been informed that there have been a spate of dog thefts around the Thirsk area. Do not leave dogs unguarded in runs and kennels and please circulate this to all your contacts. Valerie

their not bullbreeds mate they will make sure them kind of dogs find homes. All breeds, including Bull breeds are found new homes (if they are not aggressive and are healthy). Fortunately there are quite a few staffie rescue shelters, and the majority of dogs in multibreed rescues are Staffies that have been dumped or given over to rescue. Unfortunately there have been hundreds and hundreds of Staffies that have been dumped over the past several months. No ID, unclaimed, some of them not in a good state, and the breeders keep churning them out!! Money is all a lot of them appear to

They will be rehomed, either directly from the pound or handed over to a rescue to rehome them. The problem is, that if found dogs are dogs that have been in vehicles that have been stolen, they have probably been dumped a long way from whome and in an area that the owner of the dog wouldn't think of looking for it. This is why we have K9 Search UK, doglost.co.uk and various other sites for advertising lost/found/stolen dogs, with lots of people searching each site to try and link up dogs with their owners. They narrowily avoided being hit by cars on either side of the road. A work colleague and I stopped our cars but we couldn't catch the loose dogs. They were wearing red collars. They disappeared into a field with oilseed rape that leads behind the Blak

He has a three-quarter length tail, was wearing a collar with tags and is chipped. There have been a number of incidents regarding dogs in that neighbourhood, which is causing some concern. Any information to: 07737 943878 or 01635 281481. Sorry no other information. For more details and photos, please ring the numbers in the email. Thanks Valerie

This is an excellent site. Please crosspost. http://www.dogwatchalert.com Be prepared against dog theft I expect most readers will know of someone who has been a victim of a working dog theft. With the increase in popularity of fieldsports comes the increase in demand for trained dogs. And there is a danger of the demand being satisfied at the genuine owner’s expense. At DogLost we’ve seen a rise in the theft of gundogs, especially cocker spaniels, in the past few months. Owners must be prepared. Almost 50 per cent of reports of missing dogs to DogLost are working dogs. Th

I have just received this email: On Sat 23 Jan at about 4.45 I found 2 dogs wandering along by the retail units on Newport Road, Cardiff (nr Pets at Home). A customer at PAH said she'd seen them both earlier on the Nature Reserve (which I assumed to be the Howardian) so wondering if they went missing there. Dog 1 is male and an english springer spaniel (liver/reddish brown and white) - about 4/5 years old - no collar - bit shy (but he didn't know me) - not sure if neutered or not (wasn't going to find out when I didn't know the dog). Dog 2 is female, possibly 8 years old - collie/

Please cross post this email as much as possible. Dear all, The father of my Gamekeeper, Paul Seaton, had his two working cocker spaniels stolen from the kennel by his house on New Years Eve. He had just taken them for a walk, put them back in the kennel and gone into his house to make a cup of tea. Within a few minutes they had gone! Anyone who has shot here will remember seeing them work. I attach a poster with a photo of them. Their markings are very distinctive, so they should be easily recognisable. Because of this, it is probable that the thieves will move them out o
