  1. I have five 2 terriers one lurcher one otter hound and one greyhound just started to train for the track Just About able to get work for them all . Dont need another dog at the moment
  2. Track men usually stay away from big dogs as they are more prone to injury around the track . I have a dog pup 12 months old just tipping the scales at 62 pounds . do really want him much bigger . some of the courseing dogs i have seen have been around the 90 pound mark . For lurcher breeding both have advantages . depend if you want sprinter speed or size
  3. Has anyone received there October Issue yet . I usually get mine around middle of month no sign yet . Thanks
  4. you really should be going out with someone with a bit of experence . There is alot of things that can happen to your dog below ground . I know you have to be careful of Skunks over there . For your dogs sake wait for someone whos workss there dogs to go with you
  5. As everyone has said great day out i was out with the Mid Glamorgan 2 year ago traveled from ireland . and got invited to stay with the hunts man on my first trip had a good day with a few hunts always up with the hounds you can see at close hands the hounds working and then a mad roaring up the river aslo went out last year with the cork city mink hound also had a great day but a little different .
  6. Depends on the Fox This years Cub will not be in as good a shape as a two or three year old Dog fox in his prime . he would be a match for any terrier . i have seen hard terriers getting a good pasting from a fox which has the advantage underground he may be higher than the terrier or just a tight hole all the terrier can see or grip is rows of Ivory . No A good Winter hill foxfed on the best game about is a good test for any terrier
  7. I have a 11 month old greyhound out of Droopys kewell and wanted to know what i should be doing with him now or when should he be started into training . This is my first greyhound .
  8. You should leave the Iron Lurcher at home and get yourself a good foxing lurcher . more sporting than the gun

  11. KIWI I did not say that cost was an issue he just wanted a dog to pick up a few shot ducks etc and be able to hunt up as well . his last Lab was a brillant water dog but was a bit slow on the hunting side of his game . I only wanted to know if anybody used this cross and if so how they worked
  12. Mate had to put his old Lab down few days ago but wants a dog to pick up ducks and mabe flush a few birds from cover . he has got the idea that a Lab x springer would be perfect . Any body use these crosses and how much would you expect to pay for a young adult ready for training . good hunting

Also we let a other lad bring his hounds to our permission to hunt with our pack first bit of cover his hounds had hunted a sheep to a coner of field with a few of our young pups . next bit of cover you could see the pups looking for sheep . they also got there ear pierced .

  20. no old skool i meant the white strongly built dog
  21. old skool any more pic of your terrier he looks a stronger dog than his sire
  22. why did you give him the bitch if you did not know him that well
  23. i Think people can see that there are two different type of thought here one likes the idea of a breed type e.g Border lakey russel other dont care as long as they work . If a survey was done on terriers owned by people on the site i think you would see more cross breeds than the breed type dogs . Most terrier men i know use cross breeds they see a good terrier and want to breed from it does not matter what "breed" it is Just My Opinion
