    Just wondering if anyone could tell me what the deer situation is like in cumbria? I'm moving down in the new year to a place near Brampton and have no idea what the deer situation is like around that area? Leaving behind 1,000 acres of roe stalking in Scotland so hoping there will be a few around! Any info would be great. Cheers.

    Not all those rifle men are as accurate as it seems ,have come across some awful messes out there, at least with a dog it get away cleanly or not,,

     

    Sorry if it seemed like I was having a go at dog men! In no way was I trying to generalise. Theres idiots in all fieldsports, just as many if not more are shot by riflemen with sub .22s I'm sure. Wasn't meant as a dig at all.

    Around 40-50 kilos is just an average sort of size boar, they are usually a lot smaller than domestic pigs, can you get any photos of them? Are you shooting form a highseat or stalking them? Did you have much trouble getting wild boar on your firearms certificate? What calibre are you using?
