how old is the dog?the only tip i can give you is to get the dog out in the field with you.once youve got the ferrets to ground ,keep the dog on a lead and just keep him/her next to the sett and let it hear whats going on.once it sees rabbits bolting and gets used to their scent it should hopefully all fall into place from there.some dogs take to it naturally and some take a bit of time.what ever you do DONT force the dog into marking or it will mark every sett wether occupied or not. watch the dogs body language while its around the setts,if it does anything thats out of the ordinary it could

I have just reely got my first dog and she's a border terrier. i am using her for rabbiting and i would like to no how to get it to mark the holes when my ferrets' down.. anyone got any tips??. cheers.

yerr i keep ferrets,, well i have 1 lol an albino hob. if u want one i am breeding it this year wif another albino if you want one? Bit to far to transport ferrets for me, as soon as its ferreting time again get the dog out with em, bolting to nets. Got the whole summer to train the dog and get it fit and ready. Trying myself to get some ratting done this summer, farmers not been obliging yet though. lol

nice dogs mate.. very nice. what do you use them for?? rabbits, hares etc?? i like the one on the right. There just companion dogs, they both had racing careers , the blue dog raced longer & the b&w bitch had a shorter career , the dog will retreive but nothing live to date , theres simply nothing here for him to work The bitch has chased squirells , but shows no interest in a dummy where as the dog does & will '' play'' fetch all day lol nice
