  2. thanks buddy,i've only had the .223 2 weeks and put only 5 shots through it,i then cleaned it with nitro cleaner.if i get some copper cleaner and clean it straight away and then say after every shot for 5 more shots,do you think this will be sufficient.then say after every 5 or 6 shots for a while. also how often do you use nitro or copper cleaner after the barrel is de-burred.
  3. i've had shotguns for the past 20 years or so and only recently got into rifles[approx 1 year],last week i was chatting to a friend of mine whos had rifles for years and he asked if i had 'bedded in' my new rifles....i said whats that? he said with a new rifle you are supposed to fire 1 shot through it then clean the bore, then 2 shots then clean the bore, then 5 shots then clean, then 10 and clean, then 50 and clean, then clean as a normal/used gun. is this true???? iadmit i am totally green to rifles but how can this acheive anything? i haven't done this to my 2 new guns [.22lr and .223] so are
  4. catfood tins are good, punch largish holes all over the tin, lets the smell out and stops the crays eating all the bait so it lasts longer. i've used this method many a time and works well.
  5. but then again if the bulls that are being bred are a healthier representative of the breed and being bred how they should be they'd get my money over a kc show breeder anyday.
  6. almost anyone with an internet site on dogs showing there planned breedings are in it for the money first, fame second, dogs last. sad but true. this goes with all breeds. the last few litters i've had i've tried to place the pups first for free with genuine friends or aquaintances,i usually breed a litter in the first place when i wish to keep one of the pups for myself. i have some well bred dogs and could sell the pups on the internet for hundreds but its not for me.

  9. i know a worker can damage its tail and that is why some say they remove them but for the majority of owners i think its nothing more than style or pretence that they own a worker so needed to dock the tail.most probably have never seen work. what i meant was its easier to grab a dog by the tail and keep your hand away from the teeth end when there's a ruck going on,thats all. most of you gob shite wanna be's aint never done f**k all with your dogs anyway.i've lived in the sticks for donkeys years and worked dogs properly for most of them.you loud mouth forum dicks make me laugh,so keen to j
  10. looks like a pat x staff,is it?? and why dock the tail,i'm not against it but surely better on for a worker.

  13. i read recently in a book by mr.homan about these irish terrier trials and found it hard to believe that the official irish kennel club of yesteryear ran these badger trials and no terrier could become a kc champion unless it first qualified game!!how times have changed. the colourful past of breeds such as kerry blues, irish terriers, bull terrier mixes, wheatons etc.etc. is very interesting to me and it goes to show the makeup of the general public of those past times as well as the breeds in question was alot different to today. what the book didn't show was a copy of the teastas mor certifica
