    cheers lads... I agree REW next time hopefully theres no distractions and im gunna have to put more time into his retrieve... start walking off in the other way etc... I was abit over excited on the first one dint want him to drop again but he made sure he didn't make that mistake again... Cheers guys

    i know hes still young guys cheers... but I do think he is physically and mentally ready for a couple runs nothing too strenuous... don't get me wrong im not gunna run him for a few week now, just mooching as normal and doing more retrieves with rabbit dummy etc... cheers guys

    Well decided to have a lamp with duke as he's shown me he is capable of catching rabbit on the lamp now.... had a cracking night it took a slip or 2 to get going and he caught a squatter which he dropped and it escaped... never mind its his first one... tried a field on the way home which is perfect for a few bunnies... he caught 4 out of 5 runs on this patch and they were excellent catches he even caught one in cover, his retrieve isn't the best but he bring them close enough, with more encouragement and less distraction he should get the hang of it soon enough... all in all I couldn't fault

    I love ferreting on myself mate at one with my team... but I do enjoy some company aswell... just like you mate my daughter is getting older and wiser now, she always wants to come lol bless her... good luck in future pal hope your lad loves it ... cheers
