  1. The unfortunate thing is none of them are a match for a charge of no.4 shot................

and the thing is ,you ain't going down for a while either

but i did find a crossbow was a good alternative

only classed as an offencive weapon ;)

  2. Im a young man and want to leave home but im on a crap trainee salary so getting a mortgage isnt an option yet. Dont want to rent because its dead money and all the new apartment complexes in my area are full of drug dealers and scum my age on benfits. Plus theyd be depressing places to live in and theres no way I could keep a lurcher and ferrets lol.

The plan is buying a static caravan for about 10k to live in. You can only stay in caravans on the holiday sites during the hol season and the annual rates are extortionate . So the plan is to either buy a very small plot of land or more likely pay the landowner an annual fee. Either way though Id also have to agree if I could put up a kennel which id prefer to be fenced off for the dogs security, while im out, with the ferret hutch within the fences perimiter and a little shed for bits and bobs. Were not talking a massive fenced area like gypo sites. You always see in the paper opposition about gypos building on agricultural land, but I aint a gypo lol were only talking one caravan, Im not going to be tarmacking, and its not going to be on greenbelt land.

So what do you think are the chances of gaining a landowners permission for this. In addition id keep the pests down and help out around the farm. Or how much would it cost to buy a small plot of land.

Also wouldnt know how Id get my water, gas, elec. Or how much these would cost.

I know Im being a bit nieve and dreaming here, but Id really appreciate your thoughts.

    Thanks Gareth.

Be easier if you were mate ;)

  3. top and bottom line is.........

if you are a resposible person and ALWAYS shoot within the law......what is the problem with a test or a licence.

as i have previously said.......licensing is preferable to a ban...!!!

    cheers

    sean

This is true Sean, licencing is preferable to banning...but we all know even this doesn't work, plenty of unlicenced car drivers, firearms, televisions etc....all it does is makes it easier for the authorities to start somewere when they start banning things (after Dunblaine,it was all the legitimate gun owners who had to hand in the firearms, the ones all licenced...who payed to be members of gun clubs)or want to snoop...

Try buying a TV out of any shop, they ask for your name and address so they can inform the TV licencing people...

Which country in the world has the most CCTV cameras.....the UK.

They're all out to get us :whistling:

  4. Sorry to pour piss on all your fires, but no matter how many petitions you get or whatever form of action you take it won't matter(take a look at the hunting bill, how many petitioned marched etc that cause...still went through)...They've got there minds made up about air weapons,as far as controling air weapons goes, thats bollocks.....the only people it affects are the law abiding ones not the criminal fraternity...as usual

Go to any city in the UK and you can buy a real gun quite easily if you know were to look, even an average Joe could get one if he was determined....so much for the ban of handguns after the Dunblaine massacre!

Just another plot by the goverment for control of the little man, make criminals of everyone who owns an air weapon and not got it licensed...just another excuse to get more people on the DNA database(but thats another story)..

Thanks for reading, these are just my opinion...

Better start making your catapults now,as this is the only thing you maybe allowed till they ban them...

  5. Try leaving her on the lead and walking upto people and introduce her to everyone until she realises that not everyone is a threat. You need something to distract her attention when she gets excited(you may think is dog whisperer crap but it works)mine is a click of the fingers(worked with all my dogs)just a case of seeing what works for you...

I personally wouldn't let her off the lead if there's people about(i know it's hard not too) I also find with keeping them on the lead they start to watch and eventually follow what the other dogs are doing like behaving etc..give it a few days on the lead see how it goes(it's like being grounded as a kid),re assure she's ok plenty of pats...got a mate who swore by them halti collar things

Just some suggestions mate...cost you nowt, worth a try

  9. how much did he charge to sort the gun out mate, and did you get your old sights back or did he get rid of them for you?

just curious about how much he charged, cheers

it was a mere £20 to turn it down with cronos i dont think its fleeceing.

fitted my new scopes mounts, and give me the old ones back.

i also spoke about purchaseing new seals springs etc and having them fitted the fella said dont bother you dont need them.

so not the actions of a ripoff in my mind.also threw in a free bottle of this blueing gell ive never used before.

ok he should have had this chrono thing in order first time round otherwise i felt i got great service.

£20 for peace of mindChip

  10. dont know where to start though really, i should be writing about my amazing weekend in suffolk but ive just had a massive row with my old man, who for reasons only known to himself has decided that training a dog in any way, shape or form is cruel!

    WHY????????????????

because your making the dog do things that it doesnt want/need to do! :wallbash:

now ive always know my dad was anti fieldsports but some times he just makes my teeth grind!

    cheers

    hyperion

Hyperion, just ask your Dad does his arguement only include animals,as i'm quite sure like everyone else's Dad,they made you do things you didn't want to ;)
