  1. Do you have stone martens there like they have in Corfu? Never heard of stone martens, we do have beech martins here, could have been one of them.Same animal, different name. Just googled it! Googled it myself, after I replied.

  5. Could have been a cat, I thought maybe a weasel or stoat. If you look closely at the puncture wounds they look a bit small for a cat.

  8. A local expat who deals with rescue organisations has taken the sparrowhawk to put on the ferry to Athens, there it will be picked up by a rescue centre and hopefully they'll be able to fix its wing and release it back into the wild.

  12. Bit of advice needed. This morning when walking the dogs, the old fella up the top of the hill was seeing to his hives. On my way back, he shouts me over and gives me a frame full of honey. I've taken the honeycomb out of the frame. What do I do to get the honey out of the comb? Secondly, should I clean the frame before I give him it back. I would have asked the old fella, but, he doesn't speak a word of English. Thanks in advance, kriti.

  15. The grey ones are mainly seen on the rocks or rocky paths, the green ones among the grass and plants, which makes sense. I see them at all times of day, but mainly when I'm walking the dogs on the morning. In the spring the young ones come into the house very often. When you see one with prey in its claws its brill.
