    i've struggled to find any permission in my area ,most of the farmers are pretty suspicious of anyone with a lurcher or longdog.i managed to get 150 acres just down the road but nobody else wanted to know.last week i did a bit of brickwork for a farmer in hampshire & after a bit of a chat i swapped my days labour for permission on 600 acres of land.well chuffed!!! my dog is laid up after pulling a dew claw again [4 times this year] is this just unlucky? he was 2 when i got him & still clawed.would a vet do it now ,[he's 4] & is it an expensive job? cheers,Sonny.

    thanks for the advice lads. my dog was 2 when i got him & untrained so he was quite hard work at first . not sure of his breeding.he does get the odd extra rabbit cos he doesn't hold back but it would be good if i could stop him doing it. i'll try the tips & see how he goes. cheers, Sonny.

    has anyone got any tips to stop my dog hunting up when i'm lamping rabbits?. they sit fairly tight to the wood on the land where i go & he's injured himself twice by running in.i pull the beam off the rabbit but he keeps going.he recalls well to a whistle in daylight but it spooks the bunnys. cheers.

    IT LOOKS LIKE BORZOI X d'ont know the cross,he's got a good nose,often hunts up after i've flicked the lamp off

    can anyone tell me where i can get a good slip lead,also what's the best kind ,toggle or other? nothing too fiddly as i mainly work my dog on the lamp. cheers.
