  1. You cannot

have an air rifle in a public place unless you are supervised by somebody aged 21 or over, and you have a reasonable excuse to do so(for example, while on the way to a shooting ground).

i wouldn't risk it mate................only takes a jobs worth copper to stop him.

the person on the phone was probably being helpful.....but the rule is made.....and thats what a court would follow...in a worse case senario.

    regards

    sean

he could end upin court over it?

  2. ive fed them twice today i usualy watch them as they eat. when they have finsihed eating then i put them back.

ive feed them chicken thighs but i minced it first so they find it easier to eat theres 8 of them.

is it possible to over feed them?

  3. In another topic stubby said to give the kits chicken thighs if you cant get rabbit and the kits love it.

but how often do i need to feed them it. i dont want to leave it in the cage otherwise they end up wth woodshavings in there mouth.

how many times a day should i give them the chicken? :hmm:

  4. my little brother is 16 years old and he is unsure of the law of carrying an airgun in a secure gun case to private land with out supervision , but to get to the private land you have to go through a public place, is he allowed to do this on his own without supervision of an adult.

basc says that you can use an airgun at 16 on private land without supervision. but it doesn't mention clearly about walking through a public place with the gun in a secure case toget to the land??

please can someone tell me the law on this!?

  5. my entire hob has abit of a whiff with him when his balls is droped as previously stated , but castration is pretty severe , batheing can make them smell worse ive heard as they try harder to give of there scent thus making it worse , i used to wash mine every so often but now there never washed but they do go in water but with no shampoo . id tell ur misses to get used to it or else  , if you do decide to go for some form of treatment for yur ferret you may aswell spend alittle more and get the snip atleast that way hes use for something other than just ferreting ,i presume you work yor ferrets?

    liam

i got my ferrets at the last year at the end of winter but i will be working them this year.

i think i'll just wash him as you say. i want to keep him a whole hob for when my jill comes in to heat again, as he is the father of the kits i have at the moment.

  6. my jill for some reason wont eat meat but she's allways had feret complete. but i have a hob that will eat anything.

as some of you said to give them chicken thighs i tried that and they loved it. i put the jill seperate then put her back when they finished and there fine the she dragged them back and there fine :gunsmilie:

  7. if you not neuter a hob (chop its testicles off completely) will it calm him down and take a bit of the smell away.

the only reason i ask this is the wife wont stop moaning at the smell in the garden.

i personly dont hve a problem at all with the smell but you know how it is.

I'd be changing the wife :whistling:

    Fortunately mine loves my ferrets.

Most ferrets love a bath. Keep the water just warm, not hot, and quite shallow though, so as not to panic them.

I use cucumber shampoo from the pet shop.

Are you feeding dry food or meat, because that can influance the smell?

    Matt

at the moment he eats james wellbeloved ferret complete but i do him the odd pigeon

  8. if you cant get rabbit, try chicken thighs from supermarket, just chop into smaller chunks, bone and all

would the chicken thighs be better raw or cooked?

Ferrets have got big teeth because there carnivores they eat raw meat , mate

    ok cheers for that.

  9. The answer is yes but hobs only smell in the summer when there testies drop if cleaning him out dont work try washing him ,castrating him seems a bit sever

ive tried washing him before but he didn't seem to like it too much and he got a bit nippy.

  10. in this hot weather, I tend to place shallow bowls of cold water in all the hutches/courts, if their eye's are open, and their crawling, they will find it,

tend to think that milk and meat juices, aint whats always wanted on hot days

there kind of crawling, however there eyes are not open, so will it still be ok for them to drink water. even in shallow bowls
