  1. when i was younger i done the ferreting during the summer, it wasn't until one day i was gutting a rabbit and she was full of young, that put me off hunting in the summer and now i keep it to the winter or mid september at the very earliest. atb mcass123
  2. thanks guys, he has a wee radio in with him the now, he cried when i walked away bit this was for literally 30 seconds fingers crossed, i agree though he must be lonely, i dont have the option of keeping him inside so al have to stick with it, on the whole he is a great wee addition, am thinking of getting another pup in with him for company atb mcass
  3. i gave it in my nieces wee hairy stuffed toy last night, its still there the now, he seems to have settled for now, is there anything the plod can do if someone complains???? cheers mcass

  5. i got my pup on wednesday night, he came home and cried for no more than 5 minutes, TONIGHT though, he has been at it for a few hours, my next door neighbour is a crabbit and i dont want him phonin the plod or anything, am i best to leave the pup to cry, let him get over the fact he is away from his mother, brothers and sisters and pray it stops soon? i doesnt bother me at all but i dont want any grief from my neighbours. any advice is very welcome cheers mcass123
  6. Definately a pup for next year, don't think he will catch much this year dam = deer hound, whippet, greyhound sire = deer hound, greyhound, saluki, bull a "bitsa" am lead to believe 6 weeks old just now
  7. i think he is a belter, i had a choice of a few and he stood out, was in about everything, just a bit smaller than the rest, he is running about, eating and doing the puppy thing cheers lads mcass
  8. i bred some pups about 6 yrs ago my lad picked the runt or the smallest out of the litter which ever way you wish to put it.here's a pic she's 23tts not a long dog compared to the others. strong looking though mate and good feet, does she lamp well? atb mcass yes mate she does and still going strong very clever aswell.pic of the brother he's 27tts just mated a bitch this year,pups been born 7 pups all bitches,the lad who owns the bitch was gutted he wanted a dog but there ya go. powerfull looking beast mate atb mcass
  9. he is the smallest but not by a great deal, the breeder did say that he was the "runt" but he also said he was a game wee pup ive got a lurcher bitch here she was the smallest out of the litter all the others threw to the bull they have 1/8 in them mine threw to the sal,whip,grey and cant see the bull.she is the only worker in the litter all the others were useless sounds interesting mate, i posted a picture of him, wee brindle, i was only concerned with the working results of the smallest/runt, i must admit though, i liked his as soon as i seen him

  11. here is a picture of my new pup, got him last night, wed 25th, 6 weeks old, very settled in the kennel, only small howls when i put him in but he is quick to settle

  16. i took him home last night and he has been great, hardly a chirp out of him overnight and he is runnin about the now with my niece, he hasnt really eaten much since i got him (last night) but i am putting that down to him being unsettled, could this be right?

  19. have the police been in touch him? he might face a heavy fine because swans belong to the crown, did someone see it happening? if so do they have pictures of the incident?

  21. not sure about ireland mate, i thought the ban didn't count in ireland, the republic anyway as long as its between dawn and dusk and the ban doesn't count then i think you should be ok. i may be totaly wrong and talking some shiiit and if so, i apologize now mate atb mcass

  23. hows it goin lads. i have been out of the dog scene for a few years and am just startin off again, i am getting a lurcher pup, 7 weeks old he will be, looking for some advice on the best way to get the best results out of bringing the boy on. 1. how many feeds a day should he get? 2. should i give him a mixture of tinned meat and dry complete? 3. should i fire the food into him then walk and run the beef off him as he gets older 4. what stage should i begin to stock break him? all advice greatly appreciated atb mcass123
  24. also, what dried food is the "stuff to have" these days, i used to use dodson and horrell, chudleys working crunch.
  25. hi guys, i have a new lurcher pup coming this week, its been a good few years since i had a lurcher pup so i am wondering what you can recommend feeding him on? dried, tinned or raw or a mixture of all of these? cheers mcass123
