  1. That's strange, it was a firearms trained police officer who told me you did. They don't know it all then.
  2. Can anyone clarify for me. Do you still need a firearms licence to store empty cases.. It is more of a retorical question really as I already hold a firearms cert. just wondered that's all. Thanks.
  3. Cheers Markha andSnapshot for your info will get these books and start reading. Thanks again.
  4. Once you have got OAL using ogive as datapoint. How does that translate into using bullet seating die. If I am to believe everything I have read. The polymer tip on a V Max bullet is not an accurate datapoint. So how do I set the bullet seating depth?"
  5. LI suppose it depends on how good a shot you are. The night vision won't make you a better shot. You will just be more able to see what you are aiming at.
  6. Probably been asked before, and no doubt will be asked again. But which is th best manual? Have been reloading for about two years now. The bloke that showed me said to measure OAL from base of cartridge to the tip. I was talking to someone yesterday and he said you had to measure with a bullet compariter. Which is correct?
  7. While reading through this thread there is mention of "watching for signs of excessive pressure". What are the signs of excessive pressure? Ian
  8. No, I don't particulaly want a military Suppressor. it is just that my gun dealer attended a trade show recentlyand saw this Suppressor. Apparantly the body is made of carbon fibre. So therefore really light. spoke to my dealer tonight and apparantly they can be seen here. www.tld.uk.net.
  9. They are supposed to make equipment for the military. Has no one heard of them?
  10. Just wondered if anyone has heard of the above manufacturer. If so what are the suppressors like. Any reviews? Ian.
  11. Sorry, placed in wront section. Ian
  12. Was asking about a T8 earlier on. But have learnt a bit over the weeks. What I am really after is one that ;- Is as quiet as possiblt and also one that cuts down on recoil. I have a funny feeling that there wont be a good moderator that does both. Possibles are T8, Wildcat Predetor 8, or ASE Ultra CQBS. Ian.
  13. Have just bought a Remmington 700 rifle and am after a T8 sound Moderator. Where is the cheapest place to get one. Is it worth coing s/hand? Ian.
  14. Right then, that seems to answer that question. Can I pose another now. What is the best mod for a 223??
  15. I have a 22 CZ with sound moderator. Absolutly silent in opperation. Used to have a 223 Tika with Rsa (I think thats what it was called) Sound moderator. Made a fair bang compared to the 22. I know there is a lot more powder in a 223 bullet, but is it possible to get a 700 firing as quietly as the 22?
  16. Hmm, I was wondering about that. Has anyone done it and does it work out cheaper?
  17. I am interested in buying a Savage Edge 223 for foxing. The prices in the States appear to be way below what they are here. What is involved in purchasing firearms from the States??
  18. Cheers for the reply. I thought that in certaian areas for Roe you could use .223?
  19. Can someone please tell a novice the correct size of rifle for stalking different deer in different parts of the British Isles. Am just about to put a variation in. Ian.
  20. Well thank you all for your comments. I have decided to go for a 223 Tikka with Ase mod and Schmidt & Bender scope. Ian.
  21. What is the difference between 222 and 223? Please dont say 001. Apparantly the 223 is a more fashionable gun. But I never was one for fashion. Costwise the 222 appears to be cheaper. Dont know about ammo though. Ian.
  22. Thank you both for the advice. I washed them in 3 changes of water, the water got cleaner each time. I put them on the end of the cleaning rod and rolled it between my hands like when lapping car valves in. Came out reasonably clean. Thanks again.
  23. Is it possible to clean used mops, as I have a few that are rather well used. Being a Yorkshire man I don't like the idea of just throwing them out. Ian.
